Dolby 5.1 Sound

I have a TCL P8S Android Tv and not able to get 5.1 out unless I use an external player; what could be the problem. 

Sound is set as Auto.

Yes I've set digital sound as passthrough

The native player outputs Dolby sound normal

What is the outboard sound equipment and how is it connected?

I have Auto, PCM and OFF

My output is a Sony str-dh790 AV receiver 7.2 via HDMI

What happens if you set the TV and the app to "Auto"?

Well receiver displays DSUR (Dolby Surround) but no output to center channels.

I tested emby on the Shield and sound passthrough is incredible. I think my TV has a problem working with the Emby Android TV app.

I'll plan to get an android box that can passthrough all codecs.
