AviatorBimmer 28
Here is my problem. I have over 400 h.264 movies I need to convert to h.265 and these are currently on my Synology DS1019+ NAS, which has an Intel Celeron J3455 cpu. Although it can hw decode/encode h.265, it is doing it at a snail's pace. In the past 24 hours, it has completed about 16 movies. At this pace, it will take me roughly 1 month to finish all of them. My Windows 10 PC has an Intel i7-3770K cpu, 8GB RAM, 500GB SSD and an nVidia GT 1030 (which cannot do h.265). If I go out and purchase a nVidia RTX 2080 and put it in my Windows 10 PC, and install Emby Server just so I can convert these movies to h.265 after I copy them to my SSD drive, will it chew through the converting process? 1 month is too long for me to convert 400 movies. If the RTX 2080 will chew through them in record time, I am willing to make the purchase.
