corey 315 Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 I have installed server version 4.3 an the the latest client version 1.4.3. I cant see the german translation. Most strings are english as usual. What can I do? Hi! I have a couple of questions for you: 1. Which screens are you seeing English and which are you seeing German? Views like Folder Views and Live TV aren’t able to make use of the new translations yet. 2. Can you go to the Emby App Settings screen and tell me the language/locale listed at the bottom next to the version? Thank you!
sylvio2000 20 Posted December 8, 2019 Author Posted December 8, 2019 I think I just send you some photos (sorry I dont know how to shrink those photos)
corey 315 Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 Thank you! When I have a few moments I’ll look into this.
corey 315 Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 @@sylvio2000 -- I believe I've figured out the problem and I'll have it fixed in the next beta release.
Janis S. 0 Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 Still mostly English with the newest beta release :-/
Luke 40144 Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 You've only gotten one part of the update. There's still more to come.
gregogny 0 Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 Hi, I have the same problem with the Belgian French version (Version 1.4.3.04 fr-BE). Everything is in Enlish same as sylvio2000. Thanks Grégory
Luke 40144 Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 It might not be fully translated yet. How does the web app compare?
Senna 368 Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 I believe I've figured out the problem and I'll have it fixed in the next beta release. No, it is not fixed in current beta. In current beta, the Apple TV app doesn't respect the User Display Language Settings, set in user settings like from webapp: I now get a mixed mode of languages in several menu's, in the Apple TV app, like for example, Dutch and English text under the buttons for the log-in workflow in top right corner for Switch User/Server. The stable app version gives me English top menu everywhere, but the current beta gives me Dutch top menu. Please fix, so it follows the User Display Language Settings, in the same way as it follows the library order, from User Profile Settings.
Luke 40144 Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 In current beta, the Apple TV app doesn't respect the User Display Language Settings, set in user settings like from webapp: This is a per device setting, so it needs to be configured in each app. The default is to respect the device language.
gregogny 0 Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 It might not be fully translated yet. How does the web app compare? For me the web app is in French same for the app in iOS and smart tv LG, just the app on Apple TV in English
Senna 368 Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 This is a per device setting, so it needs to be configured in each app. There is no such option in the Apple TV app, so please add it When available I always use English language settings in apps, because sometimes, the local translations can be ridiculous Because mostly, volunteers provide those translations who sometimes gives the translations their own weird interpretation, instead of the correct translation.
Senna 368 Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 To add to that: Or provide a Server option like this:
ebr 15680 Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 There is no such option in the Apple TV app, so please add it The Apple TV app follows the language setting on the device.
gregogny 0 Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 The Apple TV app follows the language setting on the device. My Apple TV is in French but the app is in English ... And I don't know why
Senna 368 Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 The Apple TV app follows the language setting on the device. The default is to respect the device language. Why are you devs echoing Anyway, the Emby Apple TV app used to be completely English independent of my Apple TV language settings for years already, but now it's a complete mess, with screens where different languages are shown at once....
Senna 368 Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 Can you show an example? Thanks. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/80845-display-language-mixedmessed-up/&do=findComment&comment=824253
sylvio2000 20 Posted March 21, 2020 Author Posted March 21, 2020 I am now using Emby 1.4.4.07 de-DE. I can see that there is a lot more translated than before Nevertheless I have found some things which are not translated, but in onesky everything is fine:
