Rayon 0 Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 I can't access the admin account so I tried the Forgot Password link on the Sign In page. Forgot Password Please try again within your home network to initiate the password reset process. So, what does it mean and how do I reset the admin password? Emby is up to date.
Luke 40120 Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 Hi there, are you within your home network?
Rayon 0 Posted December 2, 2019 Author Posted December 2, 2019 I assume I am since the first 3 are the same for both.
Luke 40120 Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 You assume so? Are you doing this from the same machine as the emby server?
Rayon 0 Posted December 2, 2019 Author Posted December 2, 2019 Well no I'm not connecting from the same machine, it's running on the Synology NAS. The computer I'm connecting from is on the same network. So I am assuming that it is the home network.
Luke 40120 Posted December 3, 2019 Posted December 3, 2019 Hmm, so the question is why that would be detected as out of network. Are you using Synology quick connect? or are you running a vpn? When you access from the computer, are you using the local lan address of the server?
Rayon 0 Posted December 3, 2019 Author Posted December 3, 2019 (edited) quick connect works, I can log in as user, but I can't reset admin password. It gives me the same error msg. The VPN is not running. I am connecting from the icon I put on the synology DSM desktop, but only to a user. And only 'My Media' loads, recents and the others don't show up on main page. I get a spinny circle thing. I just went into settings for user and reset all the home screen stuff and now it displays instead of the spinny circle. Edited December 3, 2019 by Rayon
Luke 40120 Posted December 3, 2019 Posted December 3, 2019 Can you try turning off quick connect, then restarting emby server and see if you're able to reset the password? Thanks.
Rayon 0 Posted December 3, 2019 Author Posted December 3, 2019 I don't know how to turn off quick connect. I can't find any information on how to turn it off anywhere.
MarvM 0 Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 I'm getting the same error. Have you found a fix or work around for this?
Luke 40120 Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 @@FrostByte do you know how to turn off Synology Quick Connect?
FrostByte 5258 Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 Never used QC, but I believe this is how you enable/disable it https://www.synology.com/en-us/knowledgebase/DSM/help/DSM/AdminCenter/connection_quickconnect

Abobader 3346 Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 I assume I am since the first 3 are the same for both. Are these PC's on the same subnet?
