neik 870 Posted November 15, 2019 Posted November 15, 2019 Do you have one? If so, are you satisfied with it or are there issues? Does anyone have this running as a server? If so, how does HW transcoding do?

Spaceboy 2565 Posted November 15, 2019 Posted November 15, 2019 Happy with my mibox as a travel device. It’s no shield but great value

Sammy 786 Posted November 20, 2019 Posted November 20, 2019 Any screen shots of the OS? Is it AndroidTV or Andriod? Might pick one up for a travel box too!
ebr 15667 Posted November 20, 2019 Posted November 20, 2019 Any screen shots of the OS? Is it AndroidTV or Andriod? Might pick one up for a travel box too! The Mi from Walmart is true Android TV. 1
Sammy 786 Posted November 20, 2019 Posted November 20, 2019 Nice! I just saw the screen grabs on the Walmart page. How's the performance of page loads and file processing on these boxes?
ebr 15667 Posted November 20, 2019 Posted November 20, 2019 It is a good box. Basically, the only thing it lacks is HD Audio. I use this box for most of my testing of the app.
vdatanet 1586 Posted November 20, 2019 Posted November 20, 2019 It also lacks a lan connection, but this can be solved with an adapter.

Sammy 786 Posted November 20, 2019 Posted November 20, 2019 The lack of Lossless Audio and Ethernet is a non issue for a travel box. Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Tapatalk
Sammy 786 Posted November 20, 2019 Posted November 20, 2019 Got one for our upcoming trip. It'll be here tomorrow. Plus a bonus $10 Vudu Credit..
Spaceboy 2565 Posted November 20, 2019 Posted November 20, 2019 Another plus is it can be powered by usb. In a hotel right now with my mibox connected to the tv for both power and video. I had one tv which didn’t supply enough power through usb but that’s one out of like 20 in the last year 5

I had one tv which didn’t supply enough power through usb but that’s one out of like 20 in the last year I didn't know that. That's cool. Thanks for sharing.

Sammy 786 Posted November 22, 2019 Posted November 22, 2019 Looking for a good apk for Prime Video. The box says downloading isn't enabled so I'll need to drop it on a USB Stick and use File Commander.. maybe I will install apkpure or aptoid while I'm at it. It looks like the box is on the previous AndroidTV that was on ShieldTV. Any way to update that? The current version of AndroidTV on the ShieldTV is superior. Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Tapatalk

Sammy 786 Posted November 22, 2019 Posted November 22, 2019 Got an apk from apkpure but how to get it to show on the home screen? Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Tapatalk

Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Tapatalk If it won't show up you can use this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.tv.sideloadlauncher&hl=en_US Does this thing do DRM for Netflix? Is 4k (or 1080p for that matter) an option for netflix.?
Sammy 786 Posted November 22, 2019 Posted November 22, 2019 No USB power input on mine unless I got double sided USB a connector I suppose. Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Tapatalk 1
ebr 15667 Posted November 23, 2019 Posted November 23, 2019 I think what Spaceboy is saying is, if you connect that USB port to a powered USB connection on a TV, then you won't need the other power supply connection. 1
Sammy 786 Posted November 23, 2019 Posted November 23, 2019 So it needs to be an A to A USB cord? Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Tapatalk
