Emby and Mac

I am running Mac Catalina and I downloaded the emby server for Mac. However, when I try to open it, it states safari cannot connection to the local host. Please advise.

Hi there, did you follow all of the install instructions on our website? What exactly did you do?

I downloaded the server from the emby website (mac) moved the file to the application folder. I see the server icon but when I click it, it brings me to safari and says can't find local host.

@@Todde78, was any Emby Server log generated? You can check here:

 

/Users/{user}/.config/emby-server/logs

Instead if trying to get to the server via localhost try putting in the actual IP address. Ive never had any luck over the years connecting to a Macs "localhost" address.

 

The default address would be your local IP and port 8096. for example:

 

192.168.1.4:8096

You can also use 127.0.0.1
