So I've made a bunch of metadata edits, grouped tons of extras into single 'items', assigned posters that aren't the default selected ones etc.

If I copy all the stuff in my docker 'emby' folder, do I keep all those edits if I migrate elsewhere or need to restore?

Thanks!

If you have not saved metadata with the media then yes - everything is kept in the emby folder/subfolders.

Of course being docker/vm - the best way to acknowledge everything 'works' as expected is just create a 2nd instance of emby, change the listening port to something else and make sure you can fully restore the service without needing to impact your existing setup..  ;)
