playback hangs/drops after cinema mode pre trailers

So I am having trouble with my pre-movie trailers in cinema mode on everything but the web browser.

The playback will play the trailer and then either hang there or just stop.

Have had a look in the dashboard while it happens and it doesn't seem even to try to start transcoding/playing the movie.

 

I am using a set of custom 2-5 second trailers that appear before movies

 

 

only resolution i have found is to turn it off for now but would realy like to keep using it

Hi.  It looks like part of your test was with Android TV.  Can you please follow the instructions to send a log from the app after recreating this issue?

Hi there,

 

I'm having the exact same issue with Emby Theater.

I use tags to play a specific intro video.  After the intro video is complete it attempts to start the movie but all I get is the movie background with the spinning circle.

I've tried this on several movies and on different PCs with the same results.

i havent been able to get the tv to submit the report it has kept crashing on submit

It's working ok for me, in Theater. I tried a range combinations of settings. The only issue that I saw was that sometimes it didn't play one of my intros.

I am yes

sometimes it plays the intro, and sometimes it doesn't play anything just a spinny wheel till I restart the app on android ios and android tv

webbrowser still works fine

 

and my tv still keeps crashing the app when I try to submit the report sorry; i'll keep trying though

 

EDIT:

I just threw the intro into video's as an experiment to see if I could play it...

this video run's the exact codec that I use for my movies, and I even reconverted it to make sure that it was the same as the movies I have on my server.

And i can't play it...

dose emby have a minimum length for videos iit can play??

 

@Doofus, how long are your intro's out of curiocity?

 

mine is 3 sec at 5.5Mb (1263kbps), ".mp4" h.264 1080p

I doubt it's the length, but there's probably something else that those players don't like about it. Put it in a zip file and attach it.

this is the shortest

and 3 others but they are 15-20 sec and about 16~Mb

That item does play fine on my Mi (although, the content makes it look like there's a problem ).

 

It is possible it is somehow a timing problem in your environment though.  Is it only this very short version that has the problem?

Do you have the framerate switching option turned on? That is something that delays playback start so, if so, try with it off.

@@Luke no there are 6 files this is one of 5 that are efectifly the same and 3 that are about 15 sec they all do the same thing

@@ebr that's the one in the playing apps?     i havent found one in the back end of the server

I tried it in desktop, store version and the online Theater (tv.emby.media).... it worked in all of them.
