arrbee99 1697 Posted August 17, 2019 Posted August 17, 2019 Remembering that I've never used a QNAP anything and don't live in Australia, and before people answer who know what they're talking about, just wondering if your guide shows up ok, or put another way, are the channels mapped (the channels in the guide have been pointed to the channels themselves) ?

Hi and thanks for the reply. Yes the guide and the channels are appearing as expected and i have checked the mappings. To the best of my knowledge these set. arrbee99 1697 Posted August 17, 2019 Posted August 17, 2019 So you're using Matt Huismans stuff. I use some of his stuff in NZ and it generally seems to work. For my iptv am using http://i.mjh.nz/nzau/raw-tv.m3u8 Am wondering if maybe the raw-tv bit (you aren't using ones meant for Kodi or something ?) or the m3u8 bit (not just m3u) might be relevant somehow ?
shadowtek 1 Posted August 17, 2019 Author Posted August 17, 2019 Yeah i am using his stuff, been pretty solid for some years now.. Just having difficulties with integrating it with Emby.. My m3u is a direct copy of his http://i.mjh.nz/au/Sydney/raw-tv.m3u8 Do you have anything set as your User Agent in TV source setup? Like VLC for example
shadowtek 1 Posted August 17, 2019 Author Posted August 17, 2019 Are there any Aussies using a PAID or Premium service to get channel lists and EPG? If so any recommendations?

Like VLC for example Sounds like you know what your doing a lot more than I do. Thats my way of saying I've no idea what a user agent is. At the moment I'm actually using NextPVR for dvb-s and iptv in NZ and a NextPVR plugin to get that stuff into Emby. I did have Matt Huismans iptv stuff in Emby directly and it worked though. I think I took a direct copy of the NZ versions of your source and the only thing I changed was to add channel numbers so they didn't conflict with the dvb-s ones. Might have been the attached file, but I seem to have lots of variations... Matt Huisman mod 10 Apr 18 1.txt Edited August 17, 2019 by arrbee99
shadowtek 1 Posted August 17, 2019 Author Posted August 17, 2019 Think a few Aussies go for Ice TV. Isnt this just a EPG provider?
arrbee99 1697 Posted August 17, 2019 Posted August 17, 2019 Isnt this just a EPG provider? Ah yes, sorry, obviously didn't read the question properly. I imagine there are, maybe not roused from their slumbers possibly ?
Luke 39664 Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 @@shadowtek can you try lowering the video player quality setting to a low enough value that it does a full transcode? Please see if that helps. I think ultimately the answer is we should be transcoding this h264 source stream.

This might be silly but how do i select the transcode quality? All i get is a spinning wheel with no options. and there is nothing under the transcoding options in the back end This is what it get Transcoding options
Luke 39664 Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Click your user icon in the top right and just set your playback quality to something like 3 mbps. hopefully that will be low enough.
shadowtek 1 Posted August 18, 2019 Author Posted August 18, 2019 Ok Cool, So it was set to Auto now i have changes to 480p - 720 kbps, Still Nothing but spinning wheel . Ill try a restart... Nope still the same grrr

shadowtek 1 Posted August 18, 2019 Author Posted August 18, 2019 Appreciate your help with this Luke. Is this what you are after? softworkz 4495 Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 In two of those ffmpeg logs the streaming appears to have worked just fine. Didn't you see anything? What happens when you try watching those streams from a browser on a desktop OS?
shadowtek 1 Posted August 18, 2019 Author Posted August 18, 2019 Hi @softworkz Thanks for your reply.. No i didnt see anything. I have tested on -Web Safari, Chrome and Firefox on a Mac -Ios Devices both ipad and iphone -Xbox one which is my main viewing source All these devices had different playback settings so i changed them to @Luke suggestions. Still no joy
softworkz 4495 Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Are those streams free or protected in some way? Would I be able to reproduce this from my location (non-AU)?
arrbee99 1697 Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Maybe I could try some of your AU stuff as well. Some of them work here in NZ (and some don't) so maybe if you could mention specific channels tried or post specific m3u8's ?
arrbee99 1697 Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 (edited) This seems to be playing h264 ok in Chrome, though it may not be exactly the same stream. EDIT - though it is via NextPVR v5. Edited August 18, 2019 by arrbee99
Luke 39664 Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Try the native support. That makes the comparison apples to oranges.
arrbee99 1697 Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 Native support (I think, did it quickly but should be) -
arrbee99 1697 Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 Different container. Wonder if they're different streams of the same stuff. Oh well...
