Anyone watching TV Remotely?

My setup is  emby on  windows 7 and is  90mi(144km) away. With a hdhomerun prime. Bandwidth is 15down 2up

My client is the Nvidia Shield Bandwidth 50down 50up.

Trouble is with Nvidia Shield, the remote tuner is frequently unavailable. (Though this has vastly improved with emby 4.2.1 and Nvidia Experience 8.0)

Using the Web Client it just takes a long time for video to play  1m to 2m

Using a Roku HD from 2013? with emby it take about the same time.

Some old software HDHRFLING will the old roku will always start a video withing 30seconds (though the epg is completely gone)

The videos are transcoded to ~700kps (no other transcodes are going on)

The Nvidia Shield will usually just say the tuner is unavailable after 30sec.

Manually retrying 5-6 times will usually start a stream.

Now Plex suffers the same issue(though it doesnt tell me why it wont start)

Do any of the Android Boxes perform better?

Yes, I'm using WMC to recorded shows (wtv container). I havent tried emby to record. I'll give that a try to see how they look.

Tested the Emby Recordings. The actually perform better than WMC. Probably because they are .ts files instead of the .wtv.

2Mb upload is very limited.  You would need to set the in app quality down very low I would think.

Yes I've already set limits in the app.

Adjusting timeouts would be desirable.

I suspect it something in the Nvidia Shield, maybe the exoplayer.

Or Android or Android App which is why I ask if anyone is doing something similar.

I does work from a Roku and Web Client though it is a very long startup time (1-2 minutes)

Playback setting in app. Max streaming bitrate. I set it 1M

emby is transcoding to 640x260 1.02Mbps

though ive set it down to 240k

Today is good. Im only get a channel unavailable once in a while.

Hdhomerun status page shows it did not! get a request to changel channel

I did  get two streams running today using Android on my Cell phone and the Nvidea Shield.

though the two were competing for bandwidth (stuttering)
