IanOF 0 Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 Hi, I am in the UK and have a Mag box for my IPTV service through a provider called Helix. I want to install Emby for the better metadata which is displayed in the tv guides. Problem is I only have an Apple TV 3rd generation (I think you need 4th generation to install the Emby app), and I couldn't find the Emby app on my Samsung Smart TV app store (the tv was bought in 2013). Any other solutions for getting the app on my tv? The IPTV service provider did give me an M3U playlist URL, so I know I could use this with Emby on portable devices, but i'm more keen on having it on the tv. thanks

FrostByte 5258 Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 It's Orsay and the F in the model number means it's a 2013. I'm guessing the app isn't available for 2013s because of the issue with flex css?

The version of the Samsung Apps is 1.1059. I can’t see what the software is but I assume it’s Orsay. Two images attached from my tv. So should Emby be available on Orsay?

drikosv8 25 Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 (edited) I unzipped the folders inside the flash drive, the client said it did not install automatically, only appeared his option to open the flash drive, nothing else happened. FrostByte 5258 Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 Have you ever had the usb version installed? If so, make sure it wasn't just removed from home screen Also, try a usb 2.0 thumb drive. I've found that my usb 3.0 hard drives don't work for installing

FrostByte 5258 Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 Sorry, don't have a video yet. Do you know what the usb is formatted as (fat16, NTFS, etc)? Also, maybe try deleting every on the usb except the folder 'userwidget' and the two files in it. Also, make sure the folder is in the root of the usb drive.
FrostByte 5258 Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 @drikosv8 Not sure if you got this installed yet. If not, also make sure your USB is unlocked (can be written to). The install needs to write a file named device_info* on the root of your thumb drive. If it can't write to the USB it won't do anything when you put the USB in the TV.
