Hello,

Quick question about the 3rd party Live TV plugins before I start trying to set one up:  if you use a plugin instead of a native tuner, can you still use the Emby guide and PVR functionality?

TIA

No, everything runs through the third party software. Emby just becomes the display. Why would you want to do that?

Posted

Well you could use next pvr to import into emby.

Would that allow me to use the native Emby guide and PVR functionality?

If you set NextPVR up as an .m3u tuner, yes.

Intrigued. I'll give it a try. I know NextPVR will allow dual tuners, so fingers crossed.

Thanks Guys!

If you go this route you only need the next pvr software, not the next pvr plugin for Emby.

Hi All,

As an update, I got both tuners working in NextPVR with the help of '] over at NextPVR.  When I imported the first M3U tuner into Emby, all was working perfectly.  I started running into trouble with the second tuner.  At first, I just increased the stream limit to 2, but that just forced the second channel tuning event to take over the 1st tuner stream.

Then I read this thread:

Figured out you need to separate the channels by stream, so I used

to create two of each channel.  Same behaviour.   Then I tried the advice from the following post:

You need make it look more like this

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:0, 28 - Fox
http://127.0.0.1:8866/live?channel=28&client=28
#EXTINF:0, 185 - MSNBC
http://127.0.0.1:8866/live?channel=185&client=185

Then in emby after add the m3u tuner edit it change Simultaneous stream limit: (Max number you have) so have 8 set it to 8 or what the case maybe be

This didn't work either.  Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Not sure I understand the current problem but I have emby successfully using 3 tuners through dvbviewer via the m3u method.

Thanks SHSPVR, I replicated your setup with a few channels and it works!

Is there any fast way to append &client=<channel#>? to all the channels?
