Headhunter123 0 Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 Hi, I'm trying to connect to my Emby server with my Samsung UE32H5500. Tried using the DLNA function of the tv to find the server. But that doesn't work. (DLNA is enabled in the dashboard.) As in, the server doen't show up. I also tried clicking the stream icon while in the browse libary function of Emby. Thart works although no subs show. While if I stream diretly from the browser they do.Any suggestions? Jordi
Luke 39674 Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Hi there, can you please attach the emby server log? you can learn how to do that here: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/739-how-to-report-a-problem/ Thanks !
Headhunter123 0 Posted July 1, 2019 Author Posted July 1, 2019 (edited) Hi Luke, Thanks for your reply. I've attached a zip with everything from the logs folder. I hope it can help you figure out what the problem is. Your help is appreciated, Jordi Update: Also opened port 8096 for TCP from within Windows Firewall. No change. logs.zip Edited July 1, 2019 by Headhunter123
Headhunter123 0 Posted July 2, 2019 Author Posted July 2, 2019 @@Luke any idea? I'm hoping to be able to use Emby since I dislike other DLNA software.
Headhunter123 0 Posted July 3, 2019 Author Posted July 3, 2019 Does anyone else know what the issue might be?
Luke 39674 Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 You could try again with the next release of Emby Server as there have been some dlna related fixes. thanks. 1
Headhunter123 0 Posted July 3, 2019 Author Posted July 3, 2019 So Luke, You have no idea what causes this? If not there's nothing to but wait I guess. Thanks for the help, Jordi
Luke 39674 Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 It's might be something related to older models. I have slightly newer models for testing that are working just fine.
Headhunter123 0 Posted July 3, 2019 Author Posted July 3, 2019 I see... I'll also try running the server from a different pc. See what that does. Can you explain why something like Plex or Universal Media Server does work? Thanks for your time and I'll keep my eyes open for new versions. Jordi
Luke 39674 Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 Because in reality, even though upnp/dlna is intended to be a universal standard, it's implemented differently by many devices. We do our best to account for these things based on user reports and based on the units we have available for testing. Sometimes though there are cases where the problem is not obvious, and until we're able to personally test with the same device it can be difficult to chase down. The 4.2 release contains improvements targeting other devices but it's possible it may help with yours as well.
Headhunter123 0 Posted July 3, 2019 Author Posted July 3, 2019 Thanks for the explanation. Any idea when the new version will surface? Jordi
Headhunter123 0 Posted July 3, 2019 Author Posted July 3, 2019 Ok thanks! I'll check back later. Thanks for all the effort you guys put in. Lastly, am I right in thinking that if it works from a different pc (as in, the server gets detected when ran on a different pc.) it has something to do with the pc its currently on? Trying everything. Jordi
Luke 39674 Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 Yes you should check windows firewall and make sure there are no rules set to block traffic from the server application. that could be causing it as well.
Headhunter123 0 Posted July 3, 2019 Author Posted July 3, 2019 Right, I don't see anything that looks like that. I'll check on a different PC tomorrow and report back. Jordi
KamElita 0 Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 Rob I tried the Tampa Bay Tour Scenario and the images do not appear in P3D v4. I see them when I open the Overview.htm but they do not appear when I launch the scenario in P3D v4. Ray
FreeBSD_Lover 13 Posted October 13, 2019 Posted October 13, 2019 It's might be something related to older models. I have slightly newer models for testing that are working just fine. Because in reality, even though upnp/dlna is intended to be a universal standard, it's implemented differently by many devices. Late coming to this, but yeah my older Samsung TV does not recognize Emby DLNA, nor does VLC on my Android phone, but both these devices work fine with miniDLNA. Emby does work fine on our PS3 and PS4. Way too many vendors have their own implementation of DLNA that is just the way it is I guess. Thanks for trying to cover most of the bases!
FreeBSD_Lover 13 Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 I wouldn't burn out any brain cells over this one Luke; I was just affirming your comments, not asking for a fix. I have a PS3 connected to same TV (and home theatre Onkyo receiver) so I'm good. I would have to dig up the info, but its around 9 years old; was when 'smart' and led were both fairly new and expensive. :-) I can get you TV model info if you want.
