I'd like to see a feature where on a piece of content there was a button to report a playback error or such. I have a lot of content that I haven't watched that friends have requested - if there was a simple button they could click that pings me a message letting me know there's an issue with the file that'd be great.

Great idea, had that problem many times and then they cannot recall which content.

If you want this this decade [emoji3] I’d look at ombi

Yes Ombi is what you need, you can even link it with Emby so your user can use the same credentials in both sites. May be a way to put a link inside Emby content that redirects to make a Report in Ombi that could be a great Plugin i'll pay for that.

How you have modded your emby with that option and the set box?
The Blu ray box looks different from the original plug in emoji848.png

Those are settings within the plugin.

That video was just a proof of concept, I think all I it did was send the report to a Discord channel via a webhook, but it might not have just been a dummy and not even implement that

As making modifications to the dashboard isn't possible with plugins, It required modifications in a couple of JS files across the Emby dashboard code to implement it and has to be reapplied every time Emby is updated

Hi, It's not a bad idea, just not something we've been able to get to yet.

Would love this feature as well.

For example users being able to report movies not playing, wrong subtitles, wrong names and so on.

You wrote the show to repeat and you haven't done it at all since 2019...I don't know why you wrote the show "A good idea, not a bad idea".. You didn't solve...

It is a feature request this is a good idea for the future that never comes.  But I guess it is better than saying No.

Really how hard it is to call or text and say this junk is broke or missing something?  Then there are multiple programs actually designed for this so personally can't see the devs spending any time on this but that is just a personal belief.

is it? i would seriously dispute that. all it does is set false hope for the person that made the request. no timeline is given so the requestor follows up or gets frustrated.

i notice the "nice idea for the future" line isnt used as frequently any more. hopefully people have learned. users want clear communication, not obfuscation and setting of false hopes

I guess the devs should stop commenting on all Feature Requests then if it infers false hope.  As is has never been said yes or when they may get implemented.

saying nothing would be better than being deliberately vague. saying nothing is clear

I would disagree but some take any comment to mean something.  Personnaly would like topic requests to go away and just use a poll with no comments if features are on a vote system.  As user and dev comment usually don't mean anything unless the request already exists or is a duplicate.

Is right 🙂

When we say nothing we get accused of ignoring, when in fact everything gets read and evaluated. But that doesn't prevent users from feeling that way.

Maybe something like this would be better (generated with GPT):

Thank you for submitting your feature request! We appreciate your input and are always looking for ways to improve our services.

To help us prioritize requests based on community interest, please feel free to use reactions on this request. By upvoting with reactions, you can indicate how much you'd like to see this feature implemented. Requests with higher reactions will have a better chance of being prioritized for development.

Please note that, while we take all feedback seriously, there is no definite timeline for implementing any feature requests. We will keep you updated on any progress, but implementation will depend on various factors including resources and feasibility.

We value your feedback and thank you for helping us make our product better!
