The app starts (I see emby logo then gray screen) then closes back to apple tv home screen. Anyone else seeing this?

Hi.  Do you know what version of the app you have installed?

Same issue here. Home server is fully updated. Factory reset my Apple TV thought I was going crazy. Still no luck.

Funny enough. It opened this morning. No changes were done since I rage quit last night trying.

That’s why it’s so weird. Every app opened besides emby. Internet was on.

Yes, I just tried it now and same thing.

It has done it before, then the next day it would work just fine.

Server is up and running.  I deleted and re-downloaded the app last night. I don't know what version it is.  Is there a way I can check since I can't get into it?

Server version - 4.1.0.26

 

App - 1.4.1

 

FYI, I tried it again just now and same thing.  Restarted the server and now it works.

@@corey - this would lead me to believe that we have some error in the server connection logic that is not being trapped properly.

Certainly possible. That's on my list of things to clean up in the near future.

 

I'm glad to hear the issue is resolved though!

Just wanted to chime in here to say that it was working yesterday (Wednesday, April 24) but today it tries to open and then reverts back to Apple TV's home screen. For the record, this unit is brand new this week and I've noticed this happening on one or two other apps as well. Most work fine though.

Your Emby server needs to be internet facing:

  1. I'd like you to create a regular Emby user with a password -- Emby User
  2. I'd like you to create an Emby Connect user -- Emby Connect

This should allow me to test a few different flows through the application and hopefully isolate the issue. Once you have those users created please PM me your IP address so I can connect to your server.

Hi, still waiting for a reply. I’m not buying the app in any device until I’m sure that it’s working properly. I did as I was told a few days ago. A bit disappointed, to be honest.
