I'm curious why you list FreeBSD <=11.2 with FreeNAS?

I'm using FreeBSD 11.2-RELEASE and will upgrade to 12.1-RELEASE when the time comes.

Well, at the moment FreeNAS runs on the FreeBSD 11.2 kernel. However, recently the emby-server version started to require freebsd 12 kernel (>4.1.0.10) or the pkg won't work. I wanted to gauge how big the Freebsd 12 community is that runs emby.

@Luke, is there any news/decision regarding having a FreeNAS beta up, i.e. (FreeBSD 11.2 base) ? I like to play around with the betas, but if i have to wait until next year, i'll probably will. :D

Seems like a strange decision, given the FreeNAS roadmap doesn't look like 12 (the first to use FreeBSD 12) will be arriving until the end of 2019.

Sorry for the delay guys. We should have FreeNAS builds functional again within the next few days. Thanks.

AFAIK FreeNAS won't use FreeBSD 12 for more than half a year.

I have not. I'll wait until it hits the stable release. FreeNAS has been rock solid for me for quite sometime now so why change it :D

Some worrying posts about jails been hosed upgrading to the 11.3 Beta, so I'd stay well clear until at least U2!

Target for 12 Beta is Q2 2020, so still at least 6 months away from FreeBSD 12.

Made me nervous enough going from 11.2 U5 to U6 :P

That was my first upgrade though, been on U5 since I moved to FreeNAS.
