Recommended setup for live tv m3u?

I have local movies/tv shows in emby and I also have live tv via iptv m3u/xmltv that comes in via xteve. I also have a separate m3u that contains all iptv vod. Is there a recommended way to bring this into emby without it being mixed in with my local media or being mixed in with the iptv tv channels?

A separate section/folder/etc that holds all the vod would be preferable. There are also thousands of them so some way to jump through by letter might be nice, similar to how you can browse your local media by letter.

Yes but https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Strm-files is more useful. I have turned my m3u vod playlist into strm files using a python script. But if I have Emby scan that directory isn't it going to mix the VOD in with all my local movies? The key is keeping the VOD library separate from the local library.

Could you not just add another library? Perhaps I misunderstand your question.

That was the ticket! I made a new library called VOD Movies and pointed it to my folder with the strm files. Scanning time seems to be a problem on Emby but that should be in another post. Thanks for the help!

I'd like to try this approach here.  Is this python script available for download somewhere?  Thanks!

EDIT:  I just found this thread, concerning ongoing development of a script for this purpose:  https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/83633-python-script-to-convert-m3u-file-to-strm-files-with-emby-folder-structure-free/
