I have been an Emby Premiere member for several years and I have an active subscription to Schedules Direct which is good through August 2019. Tonight I noticed that the Fox local cable channel is not populating in the program guide even though the channel is active. Consequently, I was unable to schedule a live program recording this evening. I remembered reading about the transition away from Schedules Direct with the release of Emby Server 4.0. Rather than trying to troubleshoot a Schedules Direct problem, I would like to switch to the new gracenote-provided guide. My server has already updated to version 4.001. When I looked on the forum to find out how to make the switch, this is what I saw:

"If you are setting up the server fresh, then you should use our new Emby guide provider, which will be the default. If you are already using Schedules Direct, then you can continue to use it through the remainder of your Schedules Direct subscription. Schedules Direct has pledged to continue to honor your subscriptions, and we thank them for that." That really doesn't tell me ANYTHING about how to make the switch.

I also read that "If you are setting up your server from scratch, all you have to do is enter your zip code in your server dashboard settings." I can find nowhere to do this on my dashboard. It's been years since I subscribed and set up Schedules Direct and I can't remember how it was done. Also, there is no longer any mention of Emby on the Schedules Direct website supported products list.

I would appreciate your help in making the transition from Schedules Direct to gracenote.it the Emby Guide Provider (gracenote?) if that would solve the problem with missing channels. (All of my live TV is delivered through Spectrum cable using an HDHomeRun Prime tuner and a cablecard. I am not using local over-the-air channels.)

Hi, you can setup the emby guide provider in the same place that you setup schedules direct. Have you looked there?

No, but it's not from lack of trying. As I stated in my original post: It's been years since I purchased Emby Premiere and subscribed to Schedules Direct and I can't remember how the setup was done in Emby server. Also, there is no longer any mention of Emby on the Schedules Direct website supported products list."

Sorry if I'm sounding sarcastic, but after celebrating my 70th birthday a few months ago I'm finding that it gets harder and harder to remember how I did something four or five years ago. When I open Emby server on my desktop and go to the home screen, I click the three horizontal lines on the upper left and bring up the server menu. From there, I have looked at dashboard, settings, and Emby Premiere. I don't see anything anywhere in these three places that is intuitively relevant to setting up either schedules direct or Emby Guide Provider. What am I overlooking?

Ahem... I was looking around and finally found the setup location under the "Live TV" menu. The guide data refreshed, all channels appear to have mapped correctly, and the missing data for Fox Network is there. I have not yet deleted the Schedules Direct provider information, but I assume it is OK (advisable??) to do so.

Public kudos to Luke for his amazing technical support over the years! He always responds quickly to both serious issues and even the trivial problems like the one I just posted! Emby is a fantastic product and it just keeps improving. I use it to manage and serve all my media (live TV recordings, movies, music, photos). It works well on Windows, smart TVs, Android smart phones, and even newer Chromebooks that are capable of running Android apps. (I'm not an Apple products user, but comments from that community indicate that it works well there, two.) Not only does it work on my local network, I have travelled all over the U.S. and can access media on my local server even when I'm not at home, as long as I have a good internet connection. For those Emby users who can afford it, I would strongly recommend that you spring for a lifetime subscription to Emby Premiere, especially since it includes the new channel guide service.
