lifespeed 42 Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 I have external access to Emby Server from PC browser and Android browser, but the Android Mobile app recently fails to connect using HTTP on port 8096 using my static-ized domain name myserver.com. This used to work fine. I haven't changed anything other than updating the Emby Android Mobile app.
lifespeed 42 Posted December 23, 2018 Author Posted December 23, 2018 The Android mobile app works with the IP address, so it appears to be a DNS lookup problem with the app.
Luke 39008 Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 Well the app doesn't handle that in it's own. We get that for free from the device. I'm not really sure the app can do anything about it.
lifespeed 42 Posted December 23, 2018 Author Posted December 23, 2018 Both Chrome and Firefox browsers on the same phone resolve the domain without issue.
lifespeed 42 Posted December 24, 2018 Author Posted December 24, 2018 Uninstalled and reinstalled, now it works. This was the case for both a Pixel 2 XL and a Samsung Note 9, but not the Pixel 3. My guess is something went wrong during the last update.
piperfect 0 Posted December 26, 2018 Posted December 26, 2018 Thanks, after trying everything I could think of to get it to work I came here and found this. An uninstall/reinstall of the Android app worked for me too.
