external access fails, Android Mobile only

I have external access to Emby Server from PC browser and Android browser, but the Android Mobile app recently fails to connect using HTTP on port 8096 using my static-ized domain name myserver.com.  This used to work fine.  I haven't changed anything other than updating the Emby Android Mobile app.

What if you try by ip address?

The Android mobile app works with the IP address, so it appears to be a DNS lookup problem with the app.

Well the app doesn't handle that in it's own. We get that for free from the device. I'm not really sure the app can do anything about it.

Both Chrome and Firefox browsers on the same phone resolve the domain without issue.

Uninstalled and reinstalled, now it works. This was the case for both a Pixel 2 XL and a Samsung Note 9, but not the Pixel 3. My guess is something went wrong during the last update.

Thanks, after trying everything I could think of to get it to work I came here and found this. An uninstall/reinstall of the Android app worked for me too.
