I will definitely fix this, but can you let me know of an example of the playlist name you are trying to play? This works for me at the moment. t1mota 1
HI, now it can pickup playlist - which is great. But... When im asking Alexa to play any Album - it plays it on echo device - which is expected. When im asking to play Playlist - Alexa asks on which player. It simply doesnt want to play on the same echo device(or any echo device), but can play on another player like browser, tv, etc. I think - the last thats not expected and incorrect behaviour. Can this be fixed as well, please. Edited December 8, 2018 by t1mota
feerlessleadr 158
playlist playback on the echo device isn't supported as of yet - see the below thread: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/65964-cant-get-skill-to-work-consistently-not-sure-what-im-doing-wrong/&do=findComment&comment=658442 Angel is looking into adding this to the skill in the future
t1mota 1
didnt know that. Thanks for info. I'm really keen to see this feature, maybe most useful if you have a big music collection. What about issue with Sonos : Play/Stop/Next/etc ? Is this the same issue as described in FAQ for MyMedia (https://www.mymediaalexa.com/) - Sonos doesnt support all player API ? or this is another bug that can be resolved ? Angelblue05 4130
For the Sonos, I'd have to see the request in log. If you can try it and tell me the time you tried it at. I will check the logs and keep you posted on if it can be resolved. I will add support for the playlist to be played directly on the echo and let you know when it's ready to be tested. Can you summarize what works and what does now please? In my case, I've setup SSL on my emby server on Ubuntu and trying to play *any* song without success. What voice commands do you use? Angelblue05 4130
@@chudak The wiki https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Alexa Did you setup your server with SSL after linking up your Emby account to Alexa? Can you try to redo the account linking process to ensure it has the correct server information saved? In the Alexa app > Skills > Emby home > Disable/Enable. Let me know if that works for you. If not, make a request to play and let me know the time of your attempt. I will check the logs, thank you! Angelblue05 4130
Can you guys test it? Play the playlist {title}. This time, it should let you select "this player". I have noticed that if I say Play the playlist {title} on this player, it doesn't get recognized well. Is this your experience as well? Keep me posted, thanks. The way it kinda works for me: Alexa enable m.b. M.b. enabled, hi there Play the playlist 'the Beatles' Select the number 1, 2 ... 1 and it plays next and previous works fine at this point I have a library of mix of different songs, some Russian, French etc. (I assume Alexa + m.b. "don't understand" Russian and French, correct? ) I suspect, that since my SSL setup works, I will need to spend some time to create a nice library with good meta data and try again. Pls share any suggestions.

I just tested this and it seems to be working great. One question, is it possible to set a default player for this type of action? You are correct that when I say Play/Shuffle the playlist [playlist name] on this device, it doesn't really work. It then proceeds to list out all of the available devices (which are quite a few). Minor annoyance, but figured i'd mention. Thanks

When it works it's cool, but when it gets to non-English artist/language it's tough. (Maybe I can train Alexa to be more smart as well.) I think as far as Emby goes, it's be cool to improve workflow and also search capabilities with Alexa. One example, when I say "Enable e.b." and then say "pay the playlist {playlist}", it'd be very useful if you say just "Play from Music {anything}" and Emby finds everything in the Music library. Is it possible ?

What's interesting that when I say "list the new playlists", I get all of them. But Emby can't fund them fro playing! TulsaTV 4
Set up SSL today for Emby server after lots of problems getting Plex to consistently play music on Alexa. Have been able to create a playlist on Emby and play it on Alexa. What I really need to be able to do is ask Alexa to shuffle a large Emby playlist. Is this yet possible?
