SonnyMN 1 Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 I have wmc channels edited and unchecked all but 52 of the channels I watch. In serverwmc I can see just the 52 channels, but in envy when I ended the guide or channels I get all 800 and it is very slow to load and open ... Several minutes. How can I ensure that envy only loads the 52 active channels that I want to help improve the experience? Thanks
Luke 38880 Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 Hi, did you try refreshing the guide in Emby Server after making these changes in ServerWMC?
SonnyMN 1 Posted December 2, 2018 Author Posted December 2, 2018 Yes, but did not remove the unwanted channels. I saw in serverwmc advanced xml file the use of channel groups. But unable so far to Google!and find doc on how to use it or if it will make a difference. This is step one of getting of wmc. There are no silicon dust cable compatible tuners available yet. My wmc use an old ceton 6 tuner with cable card.
SonnyMN 1 Posted December 2, 2018 Author Posted December 2, 2018 Solution: ServerWMC - Debug tab, Advanced settings opens an XML file. Find the channel groups section and followed the comments/instructions. Unfortunately emby guide and channels are not muct faster on teh initial load, but at least I got rid of 700 unwanted channels. <XmlDefinedChannelGroup> <Name>_MasterChannelGroup_</Name> <IncludeChannelNumbers>2.1,4.1,5.1,9.1,11.1,23.1,800-899</IncludeChannelNumbers> </XmlDefinedChannelGroup>
SonnyMN 1 Posted December 3, 2018 Author Posted December 3, 2018 FYI. In wmc channels edited and unchecked all but 52 of the channels I watch. When I configured the serverwmc for the channel group _MasterChannelGroup_ I got exactly what I wanted ... just the 52 channels configured in WMC ... somehow Emby or Serverwmc changes its behavior and only pulls the 52 configured channels even though the group has a range of 800-899.
