PenkethBoy 2063
Good - wish others would be as patient - but you have to be a good boy being the Support Specialist - otherwise you will get called out for it
BlueMax1916 3
Hi, Emby is already using local fanart and .nfo files for movies and TV shows. I have prepared my whole media library to be used with HTPC software. I use proper tagging of MP3 and FLAC files. I have structured my media on my harddisks and it folllows the file and folder conventions described in the Emby Wiki (which is the same as for other software like Mediaportal and Kodi anyways). I used to use Mediaportal 1 (standalone client) and Mediaportal 2 (client/server installation). Everything worked with locally stored fanart and .nfo. Then I switched to Kodi with Emby Server (and Mediaportal 2 server as TV server) to get the same functionality as with Mediaportal 2 client/server. Kodi standalone also uses locally stored fanart and .nfo. I experimented with Emby Server and with switching off all online scraping I get the result I want for movies and TV shows but not for music. Why on earth? My MP3 and FLAC are tagged correctly, fanart is contained in every folder. Artist fanart and .nfo also. But it isn't used. Instead I get either English description (not an English native speaker) if no German description is found and I get fanart I do not want because I have stored better one. With my locally stored fanart and .nfo I would get the desired user experience but Emby prevents that. Examples: German description but random, unwanted fanart: German band from the Eighties, no description, unwanted fanart: Well known artist, member of 'Queen', English description instead of German one, unwanted fanart: I support what was said earlier. Please bring back - at least temporary until a better solution is there - the old behaviour for those that do not want to use online scrapers due to various reasons (one reason is shown above). Thank you. Cheers Blue Max
