Must Force Stop Emby Regularly on Fire Stick

I'm regularly having to force stop Emby in my Fire TV's settings. This topic is covered in this thread(https://emby.media/c...n-opening-emby/) but it is from June 2017 and I have not found anything more recent. Has this been addressed since then? I am experiencing exactly what is being described in the thread, IE black screen after returning to Fire TV home and then restarting Emby after using another app. It's not the end of the world to have to force stop constantly but it seems like something that should have been dealt with if it was known about over a year ago. Have I missed some update? I am currently running  Version 3.5.2.0 on Amazon Fire from a Windows 7 PC.

Hi.  Yes, this issue was pretty much squashed several months ago.

 

The version you indicated above is your server.  What does it say over on the right side of the settings screen for the app version?

Hi, thanks for the reply. I figured this had to have been resolved by now but I couldn't find any mention anywhere!

App version is 1.6.15a, registered version.

Open Emby, browse, go back to  Fire TV main screen, open another app, browse, attempt to go back to Emby, blank screen. Sometimes Emby tries to load and then crashes and goes back to the main menu.

Exactly how did you do that?  If you pressed the "Home" button, can you try backing all the way out of Emby instead and see if the problem still occurs?

You know, I just went and did every combination of Home vs Back button I could and opened a bunch of apps in between and Emby worked fine. Wouldn't you know it. Is there anything I should look at the next time it happens?

Sorry it was very early morning and I'd had no coffee yet, and im a recent convert from Plex, but yes it should of said Emby in the previous post

It just happens a lot when I launch the app, what happens (and its quite random) is launching app doesn't do anything, it looks like it's trying to load then will return me to the main FireTV home page, then on the second attempt I just get a black screen, when this happens I have to force quit and try again

Is it possible your server is asleep or inaccessible in those instances?

My server never sleeps, and it's always wors OK from my phone so shouldn't be inaccessible

Where is your server (local or WAN) and how do you have the app configured to start up?

Local server.

 

I didn't configure anything as far as the app start up.  It is however it gets set up when adding from the Amazon store.

 

Where would I change start up configuration settings in the app?

In the "Startup Settings" page :).

 

Settings icon on bottom row -> Startup button.
