DreadManX 0 Posted September 4, 2018 Posted September 4, 2018 I'm running - Ubuntu 16.04.5 - Emby Server Version 3.5.2.0 - Dual Xeons X5660 @ 2.80GHz - 96 GB RAM The first user I created and the one I tied to Emby premier (if that matters), can transcode a 4k 30 FPS, video no problem. If I switch users in the same browser session, same tab (Chrome or Firefox) the video plays at 12-17 fps. I've done a side by side comparison of the users with the working user and everything is the same - I even tried the "user can manage server" setting. I'm at a loss as to why this is happening. Can anyone help me out here? What more info is needed?
Luke 39009 Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 Hi there, the selected audio and subtitle tracks can make a big difference here. can we look at an example? please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. thanks !
DreadManX 0 Posted September 5, 2018 Author Posted September 5, 2018 Please see attached working.txt and not-working.txt Thank you not-working.txt working.txt
Luke 39009 Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 They are both working, but the second one is burning in the selected subtitle track. Burning in subtitles can be very costly and in this case your system just can't do it fast enough. Try turning off the subtitles. For more efficient subtitle support we recommend external .srt files. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.
DreadManX 0 Posted September 5, 2018 Author Posted September 5, 2018 (edited) That definitely fixed it! Thank you! Edited September 5, 2018 by DreadManX
Luke 39009 Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 Well in this case they're embedded in your video files. We do not currently have a way for you to ignore them.
