riothamus 52 Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 I have a couple of directories that are hidden trash folders, as in the output below: 2018-07-30 16:05:29.895 Error LibraryMonitor: Error in Directory watcher for: /misc/movies3 *** Error Report *** Version: 3.5.1.0 Command line: /opt/emby-server/system/EmbyServer.dll -programdata /var/lib/emby -ffmpeg /opt/emby-server/bin/ffmpeg -ffprobe /opt/emby-server/bin/ffprobe -restartexitcode 3 -updatepackage emby-server-rpm_{version}_x86_64.rpm Operating system: Unix 4.17.9.200 64-Bit OS: True 64-Bit Process: True User Interactive: True Processor count: 4 Program data path: /var/lib/emby Application directory: /opt/emby-server/system System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path '/misc/movies3/.Trash-1000' is denied. ---> System.IO.IOException: Permission denied --- End of inner exception stack trace --- System.UnauthorizedAccessException No Stack Trace Available InnerException: System.IO.IOException System.IO.IOException: Permission denied Will the LibraryMonitor just stop or does it continue on? It's no big deal for me to remove these directories, but I'm curious if this would cause a problem or if the LibraryMonitor will just keep on running even if it runs into issues such as this.
Solution Luke 39655 Posted July 30, 2018 Solution Posted July 30, 2018 Currently we stop it when it reports an error in order to avoid it filling up the log file and potentially causing performance or resource problems. 1
riothamus 52 Posted July 30, 2018 Author Posted July 30, 2018 Ok, thanks Luke. I'll just remove these folders. I've been digging through the logs trying to tune my setup, and Emby's logging has been helpful in locating nuances such as this for me.
