Emby Server - Password Reset not working

I can not log in to my emby server.

I forgot my password

I follow the instructions for "forgot password"

I go to the webpage sent to me,

I enter the code sent to me ,

I click the submit button,......  nothing happens.....

What now?

@@Happy2Play or @ are you able to reproduce this? Thanks !

 

I tested on beta and url is broken in passwordreset.txt, missing "index.html#!".  But manually fixing the url and entering the pin created another issue of resetting password for all users.

 

 

What does this mean? 

The pin code will expire at 41

Update

 

Same issue on stable with url issue "index.html#!" and all users reset.  Should of only reset "Media".

Is this the url you get or similar (maybe by localip)?

localhost:8096/web/index.html#!/forgotpasswordpin.html

Edhaving the same issue.

 

when i put my username and press forgot password.

 

it says this:

 

Esqueci a Senha

The following file has been created on your server and contains instructions on how to proceed:

 

/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/EmbyServer/p

 

and there's is no folder p with instructions on qnap nas.

 

when i put the http://192.168.1.5:8096/web/index.html#!/forgotpasswordpin.html

 

i don´t know which pin to put... i suppose that what is written on the folder with instructions.

 

edit: lol now i can see what is written because i have copy pasted it

 

/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/EmbyServer/programdata/passwordreset.txt

 

doesn't show completely on the interface and the txt is not there.

Nevermind. I remembered the password. All good. I just leave the info, but for me, you don´t need to look into it right away, put it on your long to do list and look at it when you can.

Hello,

 

I got the same problem. Forgot password.. folow reset procedure..and got error, when trying login with empty password.

Hello,

I am a new user and am trying to reset my password on the Embry Server.

Enter user name

open file > copy and paste

Enter Pin

When signing in with a blank password i get "invalid username or email"

I have tried this with my email as well as username and I get the same error every time.

Any suggestions?

Hi, I just upgraded to DSM 7 on Synology NAS.  Followed instructions here for the migration of my Emby configuration: 

That all seems to have gone fine and when launching Emby Server on the NAS after following this procedure, the log in screen shows my old profile photo. Howeve,r when I tried to log in, Emby said my password was incorrect.  I clicked the option to reset the password and then SSH'd in to get the passwordreset.txt file and copy it to a folder where I could read it and get the reset link and password.  The reset link seems to work fine but when I type in the PIN code in the txt file, it says it is invalid or expired.  I have tried this multiple times.  The first time i thought it probably had expired as it took me a while to figure out how to copy out the .txt file, but I tried three further times and each of thos three times I SSH'd in and to the new PIN code and typed into in webpage very promptly (within a minute or so).  So none of the reset pin codes are working for me and I'm locked out of my Emby server.  Any ideas?

Thanks @cayars for remoting in and fixing this issue for me.  We followed the password reset procedure again, but opened up Firefox (I normally use Chrome) to paste in the password reset link, and typed in the code there.  It worked.  The issue was that my Chrome browser's cache was full of junk.  So if  you have this issue try clearing your browser's cache or use a different browser to the one you normally use.  All sorted and back in now.  Thanks also to @cayars for some other useful tips and fine tuning of my Emby setup  during the remote session.
