CoverArt Changes?

I just updated to Emby 3.5 and along with it CoverArt 4.0.79.0

 

Previously I just had a HD / SD case configured but this seems to have updated to H-264 now in place of HD - meaning my box is also loving having to generate these too.

 

Config seems to have remained the same so I just wanted to query why i may now have codex based covers vs quality based

What does the change mean for the coverart i preferred (the HD one)

 

I'll also note that things like Trailers now appear as xVid vs Trailer aswell

Have you verified the options settings?

Might be a image cache issue, this would cause the mixed result.  Are you seeing any image processing error in your log?

 

Have you cleared your browser cache?

 

Last resort you may have to delete the \Emby-Server\programdata\cache\images folder.

No errors in log

 

i did clear browser cache and actually then found same images issue in iOS app anyway

Try refreshing metadata for Doomsday and rambo

 

did that and log attached

 

interestingly it appears i am no longer able to view details of a movie in my web browser - you see the URL change but the webpage never does

 

i refreshed the metadata through the iOS app - but ever since the update emby has been really slow - you can see that in the attached too

same in EDGE and a mobile browser

No actually it hasn't been slow, rather you have software called Ombi that is hammering your Emby Server with tens of thousands of requests:

Please try shutting down that software and keep it shutdown.

OMBI off and disabled - definit resolved the speed issue

 

has something changed with how we drill into the details of a movie, episode etc because now i cant drill in at all - i just get the below

i refreshed metadata for both via the iOS app again and there was no change

 

Rambo still says HD and Doomsday H-264

desired outcome for them both to say HD. the difference may be Rambo being moved into the library around the time (possible after) the upgrade

so therefore a new file in the updated db structure bs one that has been there some time

in case it helps - i get a 500 when i click on a item

For the CoverArt issue, I believe you will need to do a refresh on the item "Replacing Images".

new log attached - not sure how much more detail i can provide than when i click an item through web browsers i cant drill into the item, i can press the play icon and that works.

thats actually what i did - it appears overnight the doomsday cover now says HD aswell so i assume this will be cache related.

 

i dont want to reset all my images as i have actually manaully selected the covers i like for a lot of items

 

should i delete the cache folder and force it all to rebuild, or if i wait a few days might this fix itself for all items?

you actually can do a lesser refresh. just pick the option to add missing information only. and yes over time it would resolve itself anyway.

Did you forget to attach the log file?

 

it was already attached when i went into edit the post

 

i hit the Add to post button and it appears to be in the quoted segment now

Thanks I can now use the media browser properly but still having some performance issues - particularly if the server has been running for some time.

 

See attached for slow responses.

 

I noticed this as i was testing some of my automation scripts i have setup on the new build. One in particular brings all the movies into a PowerShell session (Agent: WindowsPowershell for reference)

 

If the emby server has been up for more than a couple of hours (while at work) this script essentially returns nothing and the script hangs but if i restart the server it would return in 10-15 seconds.

At the same time browsing the interface is slow, but not unresponsive.

 

Restart emby (not the whole machine just emby) and everything is back to lightning speed.

so essentially remove all plugins?

 

i would assume this is in an attempt to find one in particular causing issues? then add them  back 1 by 1 ?

 

i never had the issue prior to 3.5 - all the same plugins and the server would be ip for days or weeks

Yes exactly. These kinds of issues are always going to be dependent on activity, and that's while they'll vary from one day to the next.

 

I've removed a couple from the list that i don't think you need to be concerned about. thanks.
