acnp77 62 Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 Hi I am posting an issue concerning the iphone an ipad apps. Both are on the latest version. General: The In-movie navigation with the scrollbar is totally frustrating, especially on small devices. And the navigation with the arrows (which could be a bit bigger) simply does not work properly. We need a simple an consistent (at least over all IOS apps) navigation with a small/big step forward or backward, like it is common in many of today's media centers. E.g. like in Kodi client. There is nothing simpler and more efficient than Kodi's in-movie navigation. I tested playing I single movie Item: (no playlist) Iphone: Movie playing on IPhone:The small-step-forward and small-step-backward buttons are good, and they work. The big-step-forward and big-step-backward buttons do not do anything. Using "PlayOn" with Iphone: are are no small-step-forward and small-step-backward buttons. The big-step-forward button goes directly to the end of the movie. The big-step-backward does nothing. IPad: Movie playing on IPad: small-step-forward and small-step-backward buttons are good and they work. The big-step-forward and big-step-backward buttons works (Great!) Using "PlayOn" with the IPad: The small-step-forward button does nothing. The small-step-backward button brings you directly to the beginning of the movie. The big-step-Forward button brings you to the end of movie. The big-step-backward button does nothing. It's really frustrating and confusing. Any plans for the future to improve this issue? I find it much more important to address such basic issues before developing new functions and supporting even more platforms. Thanks a lot CHEERS
Luke 38839 Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 The big-step-forward and big-step-backward buttons do not do anything. These are next/prev track in your now playing queue, although we need to make sure they are hidden when there isn't anything to advance to.
Luke 38839 Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 Using "PlayOn" with Iphone: are are no small-step-forward and small-step-backward buttons. In smaller layouts these buttons are hidden.
Luke 38839 Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 Using "PlayOn" with the IPad: The small-step-forward button does nothing. What app are you remote controlling? the issue is likely in the receiving app, not the sending app.
acnp77 62 Posted April 29, 2018 Author Posted April 29, 2018 These are next/prev track in your now playing queue, although we need to make sure they are hidden when there isn't anything to advance to. Ok, thanks. But when playing a single item on ipad (without "playOn") they actually do navigate within the movie.
acnp77 62 Posted April 29, 2018 Author Posted April 29, 2018 In smaller layouts these buttons are hidden. Ok, thanks. This means that I can only navigate with the scrollbar on small devices. On my Iphone SE I can almost not manage to do this. I use the phone with the "playOn" to play to kodi-addon. And it would be great to be able to control the movie without having to use my normal IR remote.
acnp77 62 Posted April 29, 2018 Author Posted April 29, 2018 What app are you remote controlling? the issue is likely in the receiving app, not the sending app. I am using the Kodi App. Cheers
acnp77 62 Posted April 29, 2018 Author Posted April 29, 2018 (edited) So so sum it up: The Server part actually works and the "big-step-forward and backward" buttons navigate within the playlist and not within a single item. The only problem may be within kodi-client. My apologies Luke, I did not mean to make it look as if the Server-part does not work if it actually does. Feel free to rename, move or delete this post I you find it inappropriate. Maybe the post should be in the "feature request" part. I was just wondering if at some point it is planed to get a navigation similar to kodi for the ios apps, that could maybe replace the scrollbar. This would be great. I find the scrollbar very hard to use, especially when it comes to just go back a few seconds. Would be interesting how other users think about that... @Luke: and also your thoughts on this subject would be interesting to hear. CHEERS Edited April 30, 2018 by acnp77
Luke 38839 Posted April 30, 2018 Posted April 30, 2018 Currently the short skip ff/rew are always hidden for audio. I will fix this. It will still be hidden on smaller screens but i think if you rotate to landscape you should see them.
