It would be nice to be able to add artwork from a url. For me this would be especially useful for music album cover art.

On a desktop computer this is already possible, just enter a url into the os file picker.

This should be more apparent.  I had no clue about this and I've been around a while.

It's the OS file picker, we can't really control what it looks like.

maybe adding some text to that area saying that's possible would help.

"select a file or type in a URL into your file explorer"

 That works only on Windows, in linux at least in Linux Mint that is not posible. Just for everyone to know.

I still think something such as @enter an URL@ would be more intuitive.
