OK, I bought new hard drives and completely reinitialized the QNAP Nas. After installing EMBY (emby-server-qnap_3.3.1.0_x86_64.qpkg) EMBY crashes again.

Any idea?

That is strange. what happens if you leave the language at default, just for the sake of trying that? Thanks.

I have already put the NAS in English and tried to select English at EMBY. Emby uninstalled and reinstalled. The result is always the same.

Are there any log files in which I can track down the error?

PenkethBoy

firmware 4.3.4.0537

That firmware has been removed by QNAP due to issues - which might be causing emby problems

having said that i have it installed on my 853A and i am not seeing the issues others are having - so likely a a set of conditions cause the problems

Ok

1. Un-Install emby - this should remove all traces of emby from the system including the library.db - i'm assuming as it crashes you have not setup anything yet?

2. reboot the NAS

3. check via "ssh" that the emby directory is empty or removed it will be something similar to "/share/cachdev1_data/.qpkg/embyserver" - depending if you have volumes etc cachedev1_data maybe different on your system

4. check if you have an "emby" user in Control Panel>Users - you may not as you have emby un-installed

5. Now install the emby package manually App Centre>Manual Install (top right - icon with + symbol) - upload the package you downloaded from the emby website - actually re download to a new location just in case the download was corrupted

6. Hopefully there should be no errors and the NAS will tell you its installed and ready to use

7. Give it a few mins to make sure its up and running

8. Check if you have an emby user - see 4.

9. Try and access emby <nas ip address>:8096 or click on the Emby icon on the NAS desktop

10. See how you go

should I try it with an older version of EMBY? If so, where can I find them?

No - Emby works fine with the latest stable package

Lets see if we can find the error first - my guess is its your nas thats got a problem rather than emby
