Hi all,

i have 4 android devices that worked fine with android I think half a year ago. Now I have the problem that only one device is still working correctly. On all other devices the screen of the conected TV changes to black after showing the background picture of the movie instead of playing it.

I allready tried to connect via http instead of https with no better result. I think it cannot be a conection problem, since all devices are in the same network and and it works since the stream starts.

The working device is HTC One Max with android 5.0.2

Not working devices are:

- Samsung Tab SM-P600 with android 5.1.1

- HTC U11plus with android 8.0.0

- a no name tablet which I cannot find at the moment ... ^^

Attached you will find the normal logfiles. Last try was from the not working U11plus. If you need logfiles in debug mode please ask.

Best regards

@@laotze i notice you customized the server transcoding audio boost setting. you could try setting that back to it's default value of 1 and see if that has any impact. thanks.

Also what model chromecast is this?

Hi Luke, thank you for you answer. If you mean the audio boost in transposing while downscaling I put it from 3 to 1. But it is still the same effect. Is it possible the the TV has something to do with it? I use a chromecast ultra and have a second one which I use very rarely. I will also give it a try.

Hi @@Luke,

As I wrote before I tried the second Cromecast Ultra. As its behaviour is like the other one, I think It should not be the TV.

But what I recognized is, that the cromecast which I didn't use for a long time made an update to firmware 1.29.106401 which is the same on the normaly used one.

As Is saw the chromecast updating I also remembered that the Samsung SM-P600 got a factory reset. But as there where several problems in Emby server with cromecast I cannot say when it worked correctly the last time.

A the moment there is no Update available for any of my Android devices. I also made log files in debug mode. you can find attached. I hope it will help to fix the problem or to find a solution for me.

MEA CULPA.
I'm so sorry about questioning...the solution was obviously the HTTPS Connection which was stored in the Android Mobile Devices...

Sure. But It was nothing more as in any other thread is discribed...

About one year ago I changed the emby server from a freenas installation to windows. On freenas I had a self signed certificate whitch worked fine. After changeing to windows I just forgot to make a new certificate.

After going back to factory settings with my Samsung tablet I entered the https connection for connecting to emby server. That didn't work. A connection request for streaming to chromecast ended in a black screen. The same happend with my new phone.

To solve the problem I just deleted the server connection in both devices and made a new connection only via http connect. As I only connect through VPN connection and the remote port is not used this is a minor problem for me.

I hope this explaination will help any user with a similar problem.
