Françoise 0 Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 (edited) Hi, I am using a Chromecast to stream to my plasma tv. The bright green Emby logo in a static position, could result in burn-in if on for a long time. Emby sometimes hijacks the Chromecast, this results in the tv turning on, and sometimes happens while we are sleeping or not at home. Another self-inflicted scenario would be that someone forgot to turn off the tv. I would prefer not to risk having the static logo on the screen for hours on end. Solutions in prioritized order. 1. Have the Emby Chromecast app shut down, if nothing has been casted for say, 10 minutes. This is the standard behaviour of most streaming apps. 2. Have the Emby logo and text move randomly around on the screen. 3. Make an option to suppress the logo and text on the Chromecast. Preferably 1. could be combined with 2, Edited March 6, 2018 by quark
Luke 39829 Posted March 7, 2018 Posted March 7, 2018 Hi @, yes great feedback here, thanks. I just checked and we do actually already have a timeout, but it is currently 60 minutes and not 10. I will lower it, thanks.
Françoise 0 Posted March 8, 2018 Author Posted March 8, 2018 Thanks Luke, that would be great. Perhaps, at a later stage, you could make a variable for the timeout in settings. I would prefer 5 minutes while others might prefer 20.
