Samsung TV can no longer see media

Hey guys, long time user; first time poster. After using Emby for nearly 3 years this is the first issue i've encountered that i've not been able to resolve simply by scouring the logs and sorting it myself.

The Emby server works fine whilst using the web interface on a PC or smartphone but recently DLNA streaming through to my Samsung TV has stopped working after i made changes to the file structure of the library media files. I can see the emby server, I can see the file structure for "Movies" and "TV shows" but I cannot see any content inside of the structure at all. It had been working for nearly 4 months prior to this. I removed the library directories and re-added them to see if just reinitialising it would help but it hasn't. I've searched for other threads started but didn't see any with an answer that would resolve this.

TV model: Samsung ps51d550

Emby Server version: 3.2.70.0

Router UPnP: Enabled

DLNA Profile: Samsung Smart TV (have tried default also, but made no difference)

PlayTo functionality: Works fine.

CastTo functionality: Works fine.

Quote shows what the server spits out whilst browsing to e,by from TV, selecting a folder, then returning to the root folder.

Hi, I'm not able to reproduce this but i would suggest trying again with the next release of Emby Server as there are some changes in this area. Thanks.

Scrubsss

Try Emby Server 3.2.26.0 from here: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby/releases/tag/3.2.26.0

And see if it works.

Then try Emby Server 3.2.27.0 https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby/releases/tag/3.2.27.0

And see if it works.

I have a similar issue on 2 Samsung TV.

On my side 3.2.26.0 works and all after that like 3.2.27.0 does not.

Also see my topic about it: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/50674-no-titles-in-dlna-after-upgrade-from-jessie-to-stretch/

Let me know when you tried

Thanks for the info. I will compare those two versions and see what I can find.

I know this thread is old, but the problems still exists. I have 3 Samsung Smart Blurays. 2 BD H8500 and 1 BD H8900. They all have the same problem with Emby server and DLNA.

So far I tested with 4.6.7.0 and the latest beta 4.7.0.29 they have the same error.

The problem is as mentioned in the thread. No files show up on the Samsung Smart TV, or in my case the Samsung Smart Bluray. So, I installed a new Emby server 4.6.7.0 to test it. And the thing is, if you only have ONE Library with mixed contents, it works. All the files/folders are shown and you can play them, videos, pictures, music. BUT as soon as you add another Library, doesn't matter what kind the error begins. The log from below is when there are more than ONE Library. Last line "Error Dlna: Error parsing item Id: V. Returning user root folder.".

Maybe this can help in understanding and fixing the problem.

@Luke See attached log. I ran e new test today with the latest Beta .30. BUT the problem is not a Beta problem. It exists in 4.6.7.0 also. DLNA with Samsung Orsay has been a problem since 3.27.0 but I mostly use the Emby app or Chromecast with my Samsung Bluray-players. So it's not a big problem, but it would be nice if it worked. As I said I posted mostly beacuse I found out that the error only occurs if you have more than one library. I haven't seen this information in other posts.

Great, thanks. I have an idea of what the issue is.
