If the lyrics have timing information, we already do this.

Hi, why not use lyrics in Emby? Do your lyrics have timing information?

Luke,

i do not think so, i have took the work a round,  i have scan the libary with the Foo200 or the mediahuman a several times.

But the lyrics are not scrolling with te music, so no there will be i think no timing information will there.

So I think will be stop with the project

Is there any hope for a lyric plugin at this point? I tried using MediaHuman Lyric Finder but it, does not seem to like wav files, which is 90% of my library

What sources does it use, do you know?

is mediahuman a plugin. i can't seem to find any lyric plugin for Emby.  be nice to have emby playing on our TV/Stereo with The lyrics on the screen. our family is nuts and loves to sing. Most of the time, the words we sing are wrong, lol. :)

MediaHuman Lyrics Finder is what we mention in our KB: https://emby.media/support/articles/Music-Lyrics.html?form=MG0AV3
Here are a few other programs to download lyrics, some open source.

  • Musixmatch: A popular choice with a vast database, often integrated with music players. It can embed lyrics into music files.
Pros: Huge library, good accuracy, integrates with Spotify, Apple Music, etc.
Cons: Requires an account (free tier available), some features are paid.

  • LyricsFinder: A lightweight and open-source option that focuses on efficient lyric fetching.
Pros: Free, no bloat, supports multiple languages.
Cons: Interface might feel basic to some users.

  • MiniLyrics: Another lightweight option that sits in your system tray and automatically finds lyrics for the currently playing song.
Pros: Simple, unobtrusive, good for basic lyric needs.
Cons: Database might not be as extensive as Musixmatch.

  • LyricsX: A dedicated Mac app with a clean interface and a focus on accuracy. It can also embed lyrics.
Pros: Mac-native design, efficient search, supports multiple sources.
Cons: Might not be as feature-rich as some Windows options.

  • Get Lyrical: Integrates with iTunes and Music app to automatically download and display lyrics.
Pros: Seamless integration with Apple's ecosystem.
Cons: Features beyond basic lyric fetching might be limited.

  • Mp3tag: While primarily a tag editor, it has powerful lyric downloading capabilities for various online sources.
Pros: Versatile, supports batch tagging, advanced features for music organization.
Cons: Can have a steeper learning curve due to its wide range of features.
