AdrianW 1054 Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 With the WMC player when pausing playback, the progress bar appears so you know how far you are through a video. I've been trying to setup MPC-HC with MadVR and I can't find a way to display a video's progress on screen using a remote (it can be done my moving a mouse pointer to the base of the screen, but a mouse isn't always handy in the TV room). Does anyone know how to do this or if it's even possible. It's kind of important as my wife watches a lot of Asian dramas with subs, and often the subs have typos, so she likes to record the time and then she gets me to fix the subs for her later. I'm not going to be popular if she can't easily discover the time point where she is in a video.
sydlexius 253 Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 If you're using a Harmony + RC6 IR receiver, you can use the "Windows Media Center SE" profile, and assign something like the "Yellow" or "Blue" button to the "Remaining Time" key mapping (under the "RemoteCmd" column). You can then "Customize Buttons" in the Harmony Remote Software and create an "Additional Button" for remaining time (mapped to said "Yellow" or "Blue" button). In my case, I just mapped the "Info" button to "Blue". 1
lurch9366 16 Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 I found a way to display remaining time within the keys section on mpc hc. Down the center is the id column id number 32778 command remaining time. key is Ctrl+I to the right in the app command column I clicked the drop down and used MEDIA_PLAY Now when I press the play button on my mce remote it displays the remaining/total time in the upper left corner of the screen and when pressed again it goes away. 2
AdrianW 1054 Posted March 14, 2014 Author Posted March 14, 2014 Thanks to both you guys - I hadn't looked that far down the list of commands on the keys screen. I ended up setting mine to "MCE_DETAILS" which maps to the "Info" key on my remote. The "Remaining Time" command in MPC-HC is actually pretty good as it's a toggle, and you can leave it on screen for as long as you require.
