dvanthuyl 0 Posted February 11, 2018 Author Posted February 11, 2018 thanks, i'll give it another try. It certainly is not happening as often now, so i'm not sure how to recreate the issue at this moment.
n00b42 38 Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 (edited) I am running the XPEnology package with DSM 6.1.4 and seem to run in the same (or similar) problem. I recently switched from DSM 5 to DSM 6 and in that process reinstalled Emby Server (and imported my settings using the config backup plugin). It seems to run fine in gerneal: Frontpage, Search, Series, Collection, Favorites views seem to work fine. I can also interact with the movies/episodes and streaming also works as expected, But when I switch to the "Movies" (library) view the emby server process stops: It shows the first page but the images will not load. Looking in the Synology Package manager reveals that the Emby process stopped) The logs seem to contain no error messages or exceptions so far. (debug logging turned on as well) But the "embysvr.stderr" actually shows some issues. Appended both the latest log and a "tail -f embysvr.stderr" of when Emby stopped. Anything more I can do/try? Regards MS P.S. As there is no "disable" for plugins (or did I miss that?) - will uninstalling plugins (for debugging) and reinstalling them later on keep my settings? EDIT: While Search works fine most of the time, it also crashes if I search for some specific movies (I suspect newly added) tail_embysvr_stderr.txt server-63654040369.txt Edited February 12, 2018 by n00b42

n00b42 38 Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 I hope its ok to stay in this topic (otherwise I will open a new one) By deactivating all plugins and activating them one after the other I could narrow down the problem to the CoverArt plugin. When I activate it the above mentioned problem occurs (Process stops at Movie view)
Luke 40065 Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 Thanks for the feedback. For now I would just keep the Cover Art plugin uninstalled. Thanks.
dvanthuyl 0 Posted March 3, 2018 Author Posted March 3, 2018 I don't know about anyone else, but version 3.3 on Synology seems a lot more stable. I've not had any issues since upgrading to that one. So far it's been rock solid, serving multiple clients from multiple locations and devices. It seems to respond quicker too.
Everbrave 62 Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 (edited) 3.3 running stable without issues! Any improvements on the HW Transcoding side; especially VAAPI or QuickSync for DS918+? Edited March 3, 2018 by Everbrave
Luke 40065 Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 Thanks for the feedback. This release doesn't have anything specific to VAAPI or QuickSync. Thanks.

trmentry 0 Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Woke up this morning and my Emby Server 3.3.1.0-1 on DS918+ was stopped. I restarted it without issue. I had a log file named "unhandled" show up early this morning. This is all that was in there. Mdrodge 0 Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 This issue was fixed a few months ago but now it's back. (worse than ever) The server app must be restarted on my DS916+ 8gb every time i watch a show (the show will play in full but the server will be off line before i can start the next show). This has become a massive pain. Every thing is untouched since i last spoke on this topic so i'm guessing it's something in the newer updates Please Help
Luke 40065 Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 Hi there, can you please attach the emby server log? You can learn how to do that here: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/739-how-to-report-a-problem/ Thanks !
webreaper 0 Posted May 18, 2018 Posted May 18, 2018 Just to add, I thought I'd give Emby a go and see how it compares to Plex. Two days in, and the server has stopped and had to be manually restarted for each of those two days. Not a great user experience! I'm running Emby 3.4.1.0 on a Syno 916+ with 8GB of RAM. I have the Trakt Plugin installed, but nothing else. solabc16 379 Posted May 18, 2018 Posted May 18, 2018 Hello @@webreaper This issue does affect certain configurations and we hope will be resolved when we switch to .NET Core later in the year. In the meantime, disable real-time monitoring on the libraries you’ve added and you should find your system runs without issue. Best - James
webreaper 0 Posted May 18, 2018 Posted May 18, 2018 Okay. Thanks. Without real-time monitoring, it doesn't really work as a media server for me, as I'll often drop a new media file in and then want to watch it. Setting up Sonarr/Radarr connect to Emby should help, but it means that until this is fixed moving from Plex to Emby isn't a realistic prospect yet.
