simonhancock 15 Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 I'm trying to create a collection of 4k movies and it would be really handy if there was a filter for 4k in the video types section. A filter for audio types would also be nice, for example TrueHD, Atmos etc. If we could use these in some sort of smart collection in the future that would be great too. 10
ebr 15667 Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 What "video types section"? Smart Playlists
simonhancock 15 Posted December 6, 2017 Author Posted December 6, 2017 Hi ebr, This is the section I mean: I have a large collection of movies, and there is currently no way to identify 4k content that I'm aware of.
ebr 15667 Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 Ah, yes, that probably should be there. FYI - CoverArt can now apply a different treatment to your 4K items if you wish. Thanks. 1
simonhancock 15 Posted December 8, 2017 Author Posted December 8, 2017 Ah, yes, that probably should be there. FYI - CoverArt can now apply a different treatment to your 4K items if you wish. Thanks. I have activated the Cover Art plugin (v4.0.58.0) and the movies are just showing a MKV banner at the top, is there something else I need to configure?

If you want to see your covers based on definition instead of type, you need to check the option labeled as such in the options for that profile. Thanks.
andyblac644 69 Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 +1 for this it really needs UHD added to Video Types filter list. 3
Magic-SG1 9 Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 (edited) +1 fo this. As 4K files become more prevalent it would be very useful to have without having to go looking for it in a roundabout way. Edited December 23, 2017 by Magic-SG1 3
Luke 40082 Posted February 11, 2018 Posted February 11, 2018 Hi, yes we'll add this filter in a future update. Thanks. 1
FrostByte 5257 Posted March 4, 2018 Posted March 4, 2018 +1 Having some of both UHD and FHD devices it would be nice to filter out the 4K on devices which can't Direct Play it. CA is nice, but I have way too much 4K now. Thanks 2
simonhancock 15 Posted May 10, 2018 Author Posted May 10, 2018 Hi, yes we'll add this filter in a future update. Thanks. Is it the future yet 2
anthonws 42 Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 It seems that even in the future it's still not there... 4
Luke 40082 Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 We're getting the data added to our objects and api. You'll gradually start to see 4k filters in Emby apps. Thanks. 3

The future has changed!!! @@Luke, just hope the implications of changing time and space aren't too bad Congrats for the amazing work, as always! p.s. Free beer to you and the team if you ever pass through Lisbon p.s.2 How big is the team anyway?!? AHAHAHHA
simonhancock 15 Posted August 7, 2018 Author Posted August 7, 2018 I've just tested this out as it's been added to the latest version, clicking the 4k box when I'm in movies shows up nothing even through I have quite a few 4k movies. Do these filters get the information from the actual dimensions of the movies, or is it from the filenames? The only filter that seems to work for me is the Bluray one, it finds one movie that has bluray in the folder name.
PenkethBoy 2066 Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 (edited) No it does not appear to be working correctly i have a 4k only library with 65 4k movies picking the 4k filter drops the movie count to 13 which is actually the same a if i pick "hd" checking the movies that do appear they vary in image size e.g. 3840x2160 to 3840x1600 and thats the same range as the ones that get filtered out so the filters do have issues 3.5.2 server Edited August 7, 2018 by PenkethBoy
Luke 40082 Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 You need to refresh metadata on existing titles that were in your library prior to the introduction of this.
