nVidia Shield - LiveTV issue with NextPVR

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Just bough an nVidia Shield 2017. Android TV is working beautifully except for LiveTV is throwing an error.

Getting the following msg " Unable to tune to this channel at this time. There may not be a tuner available"

The Emby for Android app also will not play LiveTV just a spinning circle.

LiveTv works fine on the server and ET

I have sent you a Log from the Shield

Thanks

I just tried again to play LiveTV on the Shield. Got the same error msg.

Shield logs re-sent and here is the Server log.

Process:

Restart Emby Server

Start Shield, navigate to LiveTv and try to play 2 different shows

Send Logs

Thanks

I get this using my e2 plugin and HDHomeRun API, if I have auto frame rate switching enabled, if it helps, thought it was just not supported.

Thanks @@andyblac644. You are right on the money.

@@Luke, unchecking "Enable Refresh Rate Switching" has enabled LiveTV playback.

EDIT: still get the spinning circle on Emby for Android v2.9.72 tho.

will provide logs for that shortly.

EDIT 2: Server Log attached

thanks

Hi.   In order for me to find your logs, I need the information requested.  Thanks.

Then add the following information to your report in the forum:

  • Exactly what you were doing and what happened.  Include the name of whatever you played if it is a playback problem
  • The time you sent the log
  • The name of the Emby user on the local server that was logged in at the time

Ok, I am not sure which playback issue you are referring to here.

There are two. The first one is playback of LiveTV from nVidia Shield and the second one is playback of LiveTV from Emby for Android

(1)

Process:

Restart Emby Server

go to Shield TV and attempt to play a TV Show

Shield Logs sent at approx: 21:40 Australian Central Daylight Savings Time

Server Log: server-63646983500

Play attempted at approx: 2017-11-22 21:38:39.646 Info HttpServer: HTTP Response 200 to 10.0.0.19

Show Name: 30 - Freddie Flintoff: The Gloves Are Off.

Username: Paul

(2)

Process: Restart Emby Server

Start Emby for Android on phone and attempt to play a TV Show

Show Names: A Touch of Frost, Adam Hills: The Last Leg

Server Log: server-63646996338

Playback Attempted at approx: 2017-11-22 21:38:28.279 Debug App: Saving A Touch of Frost to database

No Android Logs sent - couldn't find them. (you should add their location to "How to report a problem")

Username: Paul

Let me know if  there is anything else you need.

Thanks

Thanks.  This issue in the Android TV app is already fixed in the current beta.  Hopefully, that beta goes public in the next few days.

It’s not completely fixed. I tried the beta had to revert back to the previous good release. Now it works great.

What, exactly, does that mean?

After I installed beta 2 everything was working, fixed the no tuner available. Then I started to get the error on iptv no tuner available. Over and over. Restarted the server same thing. Replaced the server folder system with the prior good release and bam emby is fast again and not one error saying tuner not avail.

Okay, first of all, the beta referred to above was a beta of the app, not the server.

Second, what you describe above sounds to me like an environmental issue not related to any version of the server but, again, this specific issue reported here was a problem in the app that was corrected in the current beta release of it.
