Error SecurityManager: Error checking registration status of dvr

These are some errors I'm getting due to DNS errors when trying to record tv. That aside I'm working through some issues with PI-Hole DNS but has me is I would assume Emby would cache your license for a little while at least? I was hoping for non internet dependent media server or at least 24-48 hours cached. The product is really good and love how the team always take the time. What is the current design for prem feature for internet requirements? If each feature is requested in their own why it might be possible for the dvr to not be requested. Let me know i'm worried about missing more recordings, Thanks!

AFAIK it is 1-2 days minimum.  Perhaps your DNS has been down for longer than you think.

Thats good info to have thanks!

My dns goes up and down currently between requests is rather annoying.

But it appears to be the root issue of FreeNas Jail permissions. Easy fix is to create same group as media folders have a group configured with the same GID. after that add the emby user in example below. Replacing linuxusers(groupname) and 2003(GID) After a restart the base group above the jail will now exist in the jail with emby user, this will allow that group to also have access so check you want those users to have access too.

ls -l /mnt/
drwxrwxr-x+ 15 root  linuxusers  62 Oct  4 13:14 Movies

pw groupadd -n linuxusers -g 2003

pw groupmod linuxusers -m emby

restart jail

I'm not 100% this was the issue everytime i'll update this if I start to lose recordings on this directory in less then 48 due to dns.
