After working on it for years, @Luke  What does the timetable look like? When can we expect? Are we talking months or years here. Please give an honest answer.

A simple we are working on it is difficult, especially when this was years ago.

Two new projects have been added in OneSky under Emby Server:

  • EmbyHome
  • EmbyHome-Alexa

These string sets are used for both Google Home and Alexa. If you can help translate those then we can support more languages on those platforms.

Thanks everyone.

Hello Luke, is there already a timetable for the Alexa APP in German? I did the translations a month ago. Are we talking about what's coming this year or what's coming in a few weeks? A rough schedule would be nice. And please no “coming soon so stay tuned.” Soon can be anything from a few days to years 😉

Hi, we've uploaded some new strings to OneSky for translation. As soon as these are done we should be ready to submit to amazon. Thanks.

@Lukelooked @ OneSky "EmbyHome-Alexa" project and wanted to help, but it seems TDriver was faster 🙂

Already all german strings are translated.

Please submit the skill to amazon, so we can finally enjoy emby in german on alexa.

Hello @Luke,

What do you mean by the abbreviation "m. b."

That's what is spoken to alexa to invocate emby.

Ok, so if I understand this correctly, I understand how Alexa reacts to the language. Understands Emby as "M. B".

In German "M. B." would then be “Embi”

Currently we need a invocation name that amazon understands.  Are you able you say "emby zuhause"  into a speech-to-text app such as google assistant and reply with what it hears?
