Hammering authentication repeatedly

 So I have had this issue with what I believe must be android phones/tablets. Basically, the app authenticates over and over (between every 5 to 30min) spamming my dashboard log. Oddly enough its showing the router ip though it may just be that it was connected over my carrier instead of wifi. The app isn't even active as one of the background apps, only way to fix seems to be to log out of your account.

Is this on purpose or some sort of glitch?

This looks to be the background sync process. We'll be looking to improve this for a future update. thanks.
