I have been testing this constantly but have not been able to reproduce. At the moment I don't have an answer but am continuing to investigate. Thanks.

Alright boss, keep me updated if there's any progress. I've cancelled my premiere for now, but I will happily re-subscribe when the issue is resolved!

Can you confirm that the episode that ends abruptly is marked as "Watched"?

@@bfir3 Friend,

The same problem again, the episode jumped to the next before it was over.

I asked my client to confirm if he was marked as assisted, and the answer is yes.

He is marked as assisted, but was not assisted until the end.

This problem with chrome is already very annoying.

Every day one complains and I'm asking to change the browser.

We need an urgent solution.

I do not want to have to cancel my premiere account as well.

Thank you

Amigos,

Obrigado

Yep, these are the same symptons my users are experiencing. Something is causing Emby to think an episode is done when it actually isn't. The thing is, Emby knows the actual episode runtime, and it knows the current progress when the episode stops. So it knows that based on the current episode progress the episode isn't fully Watched, yet it marks it as Watched anyway. I think this is the key to solving this issue. Figure out what is causing that, and hopefully that leads to a solution for the issue of media ending playback before the end.

@@Luke we have like 5+ users on the forum reporting this issue now, and it's been months without any progress. What could possibly cause Emby to mistake an episode that is played 45 minutes out of 58 minute runtime as being fully Watched? How does this happen? I've been able to successfully reproduce the issue on separate machines using different file sources. If necessary, I have other machines that I can continue to reproduce this issue on by installing new server instances and testing from them.

This is one of the most important issues with the server that needs to be solved ASAP. The vocal minority that are posting about this issue on the forum is not representative of all the users that are probably experiencing this issue. This is something that would also turn new users away from the software. If playback doesn't function correctly in the most widely used browser, that's no bueno.
