Video won't play

I am having problems playing back a file using the Emby Android client. If I just use Chrome on the mobile device, it works.

There are no errors in the log. It is like the app starts, the stops. Note: I did sanitize some things from the log except. Is there logging options on the client app I can check?

I had to turn off auto play next episode because it would attempt to play, then jump to the next, then the next, then the next...

One thing to note: the http://<my dns>:8096/ is not correct. I am using a reverse proxy in front. It is just https://<my dns>:443 and I have that setup as the external address. I'm not sure this is just a side affect of how things are logged or not.

Thanks. I should have done that in the first place.

Server: Version 3.2.19.0

Device: Galaxy S7, Android 7.0, Android security patch level, May 1, 2017

Log attached. I attempted to play the item a couple of times.

I attempted to sanitize the logs. If I overdid it and you need more info, let me know where to send. If I missed something sensitive, please delete. Thanks!

libvlc is reporting an error. what is supposed to happen in this situation is the app should automatically switch to transcoding. how big are these video files? are any small enough to upload so that i can test them personally? thanks.

These are around 2.1 GB each. I can upload it somewhere, or I can try to use mkvgui and split out a piece if  you think that would be sufficient. If so, just let me know where and what.

Note: In about 4 hours, I'll be heading out of the country for a little over a week. If you need me to upload something, I'd need to know by noon, central time. (currently UTC -5)

Edit: Isn't it making an encoding request? Video path set to: https://<dns>:443/emby/videos/e1ffe3714b070b87f5c5e45280a23c45/stream.mkv?...

The bitrate of the video is larger than my upload, so it would need to transcode. I think I even (not in log I attached) tried to set the bitrate lowered before I started playing and that didn't help either.

No, notice how it has the static=true in the url. that is direct play. When this fails it is supposed to switch over to transcoding automatically so i need to get to the bottom of why this isn't happening.

Yes anywhere you can upload one is fine, google drive, dropbox, etc. Thanks.

Did you test the sample that you cut to make sure it fails as well? Because the video is playing fine for me.
