Subtitles - How to disable by default?

How do I make it so subtitles are off by default? I cannot find it in the Android Tv options...

Hi.  You can adjust your default subtitle behavior with the web app (and these will carry through to all apps).  Just click on your user icon and then "Playback".  We will hopefully get the ability to change these directly in the app in the near future.

 

Note that we remember the way you last played something so, if you played with subs the last time, that same subtitle will be selected the next time.

Hi. I'm also trying to shut off 'Subtitles' by default. I do not see the settings that you are talking about. Have the screens been changed in recent Emby versions?

Hi, no, have you tried clicking your user icon in the top right? Where are you looking?

Hi.  You can get to these settings either via the user menu in the web app or in the Android TV app via the "Subtitle/Audio Defaults" settings.
