Darael 1
The TVDB's season and episode numbers don't always match with those used by OpenSubtitles.org. The subtitle downloader appears to use that information, in conjunction with the filename, to search for subtitles. This can cause no subtitles to be found when OS does in fact have some, or worse, it can cause subtitles for an entirely different episode to be downloaded. Since the TVDB has an IMDB-ID field for episodes, and OpenSubtitles allows searching by the same, could the subtitle downloader use that for search when it's available, only falling back to the current behaviour if it fails? Failing that, could we at least have the option to change the filename used for search when using Emby's "edit subtitles" button, rather than having it be displayed but immutable? Luke 37060
we could do that, although most of the time we won't have that info in the database.
Darael 1
It'd be a big help where the info is in the database. Does Emby ignore the IMDB-ID field when it scrapes TVDB, or is it about how many people don't run that metadata-scraper? If the former, should that be changed too? After all, why is that field available for TV episodes if it's not used even though the metadata providers have it? Luke 37060
No we don't ignore it when pulling metadata from tvdb.
