Samsung TV model numbers use codes to describe specifics about the TVs. Once familiar with the codes you can learn a lot about a particular TV just from glancing at its model code. Example: UN55F8000AFXZA U U = LED P = Plasma L = LCD H = DLP K = OLED Q = QLED N N = North America E = Europe A = Asia 55 Size in inches F Model year QT = 2020 QLED UTU = 2020 LED UHD UT = 2020 LED FHD QR = 2019 QLED URU = 2019 LED UHD UR = 2019 LED FHD QN = 2018 QLED UNU = 2018 LED UHD UN = 2018 LED FHD Q = 2017 QLED M = 2017 FHD MU = 2017 UHD K = 2016 FHD KS = 2016 SUHD KU =2016 UHD J = 2015 FHD JS = 2015 SUHD JU = 2015 UHD H = 2014 FHD HU = 2014 UHD F = 2013 Slim LED FH = 2013 Hybrid LED ES =2012 Slim LED EH = 2012 Hybrid LED D = 2011 C = 2010 B = 2009 A = 2008 8 This number designates the series. The exact specifications of each series will differ by model but generally the higher the series, the higher the specifications on that model. 000 Series variations 000 or F = Flat 500 or C = Curved QX0 = QLED 4K QX00 = QLED 8K A Feature or Design e.g. this might designate a different stand or color code for the bezel. Samsung TVs from 2012 – 2014 use the legacy platform called Orsay and except for a few entry level TVs from 2015 all newer models use a version of the Tizen platform.
