chattojimnow 9 Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 (edited) Starting this topic as I have just found out, that now tv doesn't have firmware upto 7.5. making the new roku beta unsuitable. Anyone in Australia (amusing that's the only place telstra tv is being rolled out) who wants to use emby sideload. And before I upset anyone with any of the great projects I am not trying to steal anyone's glory or ideas just want to help others with telstra tv if i can. Saying that @@CBers tutorial works great for the Telstra Tv. Edited February 1, 2017 by chattojimnow 1
mattyg8 18 Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Yes, it works great for Telstra Tv, Only use Blue neon theme as new preview beta is not available as a zip file to side load
Luke 39410 Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 We do have an Emby app that is compatible. You can learn more about that here: https://emby.media/emby-for-roku.html Thanks !
chattojimnow 9 Posted February 1, 2017 Author Posted February 1, 2017 (edited) Unfortunately Luke telstra tv doesn't associate with the roku website so to add anything other than what telstra wants has to be sideloaded Edited February 1, 2017 by chattojimnow 1

speechles 1991 Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 mattyg8 if you dont like the bright colours of blue neon there also is a plain version hereYou can change the "theme" used in the blue neon app to get the plain, same look as the original app. In preferences, change theme to "standard" instead of "blue neon night". There are also 4 preferences to change colors of the text. These colors only have an effect when using the blue neon theme. These options are at the bottom of the preferences and might be how you missed them. 2
mattyg8 18 Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 I just use Blue neon for the features, I just set it to standard theme. 2
chattojimnow 9 Posted March 6, 2017 Author Posted March 6, 2017 any update to maybe sideloading the beta program for the new roku app?
Luke 39410 Posted March 6, 2017 Posted March 6, 2017 Not at this time, but in the meantime, we do have an Emby app that is compatible. You can learn more about that here: https://emby.media/emby-for-roku.html Thanks !
chattojimnow 9 Posted June 13, 2017 Author Posted June 13, 2017 Luke any change to the new roku app availability to sideloading, or need someone to test if it would work let me know
ebr 15554 Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Hi. We have no additional information at this time. If that changes, we'll be sure to let people know about it. Thanks.
bxpressiv 1 Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Is there a zip available anywhere so this can be sideloaded onto the Telstra TV?
ebr 15554 Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Is there a zip available anywhere so this can be sideloaded onto the Telstra TV? Hi. To what "this" are you referring?
bxpressiv 1 Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Emby client of any description. I have a PC running as a server and have a TTV1 and TTV2 which are pretty useless to me if they can't run Emby. If that's no longer possible I'll probably buy another Shield which runs Emby really well. Merry Christmas btw!
Happy2Play 9316 Posted December 25, 2017 Posted December 25, 2017 Is there a zip available anywhere so this can be sideloaded onto the Telstra TV? Only the "Blue Neon Night" Roku app. What Firmware is running your TV's?
bxpressiv 1 Posted December 25, 2017 Posted December 25, 2017 Telstra TV Software 7.7.3 build 4117-21 Thanks for the link, I was able to sideload the zip file and see my users, and although the server authenticates them it spits out an authentication error on the Roku. It seems like Roku trying to block the activity, so it's just not meant to be. I'll probably just buy another device rather than trying to get this one to do something it's not meant to.
Guest Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 Damn. Just got one of these for free with our plan upgrade. Was also hoping to get Emby running on it for my parents to use...
