Spotta 6
I pushed some updates to the Pi repo yesterday just to bring this up to speed a little bit with other platforms. Thanks guys. Pardon my Ignorance, I ran apt-get update & upgrade but saw no mention of Emby getting updated, do we have to update it manually?
Luke 37065
We don't have an install package for this yet so apt get update won't do anything. You'll essentially need to repeat the install steps.
darkassassin07 423
Can anyone tell me how to change this so that Emby Theater starts at startup with CEC support?Once you have installed cec with: sudo apt-get install cec-utilsUse this line to start with cec: @/usr/local/bin/electron /home/pi/emby-theater-pi cec-client Not something I have actually used before, so someone correct me if im wrong pls Edited July 4, 2018 by darkassassin07

rechner123 12
I'm pleased to announce we finally have a one-click install for testing. Please see instructions here: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/42868-emby-theater-for-linux/?p=606796 Thanks ! My videos stutters and then stops after awhile watching a movie with my raspberry pi 3. I have seen this if the ram is about 95% full. At 97% the video stops an raspi hang up. Does anyone know what i can do? Are there settings to do? How can i control the raspberry over hdmi-cec with the new version? Thanks

I have made the installation like in the other topic described! Just wrote here because i am not sure if it is a problem with my raspberry or emby theater for linux. Luke 37065
Did you try rebooting your Pi?
rechner123 12
Yes i have rebooted and tried several things. I have reinstalled raspbian twice, done rpi update and installed emby theater. First i thought it is a temperature problem, but i took a fan to cool the raspberry. The temperature i have monitored over ssh with a android app, and there was also the ram usage to see. And over 90% is maybe too much. So thought this is maybe the problem?
Luke 37065
Did you enable hardware acceleration?

Luke 37065
I'm not quite sure what to say. In our testing it is playing back smoothly.
rechner123 12
Now i took a look again into playback settings and saw rpi copyback. Have not scrolled down and seen this. Is this specially for raspberry? Or what does RPI stand for?

Thanks It should be noted that the RPi doesn't have hardward H265/HEVC decoding, so if you're trying to watch something in that format, you might have playback issues (unless that's running much better now as well, which would be amazing by the way )
Luke 37065
Yea we'd have to look at some examples. Thanks.

Luke 37065
Ok we've determined that the rpi-copy back option is not suitable for high bitrate content. For this you'll want to use the regular RPI gpu option, which will perform better. However, the copy back option is the only one that supports deinterlacing, so you may want to switch it for live tv and other interlaced content. We may need to add a smart option to make this easier so that you're not always having to toggle it prior to playback.
rechner123 12
Hi So the gpu is overcharged with rpi copy back, and not cpu or ram? I have tried again with RPI acceleration and it seems that it is working without hang up the pi. Thank you! Is there any chance to get hdmi-cec working as with the old release? Luke 37065
Yes we'll be looking at hdmi-cec for a future update. thanks.
