Video Error There was an error playing the video Emby Web Client

Hi all,

I am having a strange issue with Emby Web Client (does not affect Emby Theatre) when trying to play the 'Stripes' BluRay. As soon as I launch the movie (there is no playback at all), I get the error:

Video Error

There was an error playing the video

I am running Emby Server Version 3.0.6300.0

The Video Codec is standard AVC and other BluRay movies with the same encoding work fine such as 'The Jungle Book'.

The FFDShow Log:

The obvious clue might be Cannot direct play due to unknown content bitrate but why will this play through Emby Theatre?

Hi, this looks like a folder rip structure is that correct? It plays in Emby Theater because Emby Theater can handle them natively.

The web app cannot handle them natively, and in this situation, we consider this experimental, meaning it will work on some titles but not on others. The reason for this is that the tools we rely on do not support them, therefore we have to jump through some hoops just to try to get it to play.

It's a BluRay rip but also a remux stripping out the menus and extra content. About 99% of my other BluRays work fine, this is the first one I have ever found that does not work.

Same thing for Blu-ray rip folders. No native support from ffmpeg for that which means that for best results you need to use an app that supports them natively such as emby theater. Or for broader compatibility consider plain video files

I used MakeMKV to convert the BluRay to mkv and now the movie plays fine via the web client.
