How can I add audio files (not music) to my library?

Hi,

I'm trying to add some random audio files that are not music (downloaded podcasts, etc.) to my library.

I've placed them in file structure that logically groups them and tried to add top level folder to the library.

I've tried to add it as Video content, as Music content, as "Mixed" content - same issue.  :(

No matter how I do it - they will not show up.

It looks something like this:

...\AudioContent\

...\AudioContent\Group1\ <a bunch of .MP3 files here>

...\AudioContent\Group2\ <a bunch of .MP3 files here>

etc..

I'm trying to add ...\AudioContent\ to my library.

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you!

Music is audio files. You call it a music library, even though technically we know it is something else. So make sure the library type is music. Now add your ..\AudioContent\ path to the music library you just made. Now wait, it should start scanning. Music is the last type scanned for, so it might need to finish 100% scanning before these will appear.

OK thanks, I just removed it and re-added.  Will give it some time, let's see what happens....

Same issue :(

I see all the folders under the top one if I click on "Folders" in the menu, but when I get inside individual folders that actually contain the .mp3 files - there's nothing!  :(

Anybody has any ideas?

Hi, just follow the music naming guidelines and you should have no problems:

https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Music%20naming

If you continue to have issues, please provide some screenshots to demonstrate the issue. Thanks!

Based on his first post, his folder structure appears fine. He's using the second option listed, and as the wiki says "Any naming convention for audio files is acceptable."

It looks something like this:

...\AudioContent\

...\AudioContent\Group1\ <a bunch of .MP3 files here>

...\AudioContent\Group2\ <a bunch of .MP3 files here>

I figured it out.

The issue was that I had a higher level folder already added to the library before (as Home Videos type)

That's what caused the issue.

The interesting thing is that this issue only happened to "Music".  I also added "Videos" of a lower folder as a separate library and it worked fine.

Anyway, I removed the higher level folder and added the underlined folders separately and everything working fine now!  :D

Thanks for help!
